Up for sale is a loaded Jeep Wrangler with a list of upgrades: 6" Superlift Suspension 36" Mickey Thompsons 80% tread life Smittybuilt Bumper guards and winch package Rugged Ridge steering tiebar upgrade and alignment Snorkel setup and Power Aid Throttle body plate I've done a few other upgrades including - New replacement cylinder head (reinforced) with head gasket; New water pump, fan clutch, radiator. Engine is a straight six and runs strong; New brake booster also replaced this year. It also comes with a CB radio, Sony stereo system and an amplified bazooka bass tube. Only issue with this vehicle is the left rear control arm mount which has rust damage - This is an easy fix or if you have a donor frame you can swap out. I have driven this jeep for two years with no problems but it is something that will need to be addressed. I have described everything to the best of my knowledge and therefore this vehicle is being sold "as is" meaning there is no refund or warranty of any kind once purchased. It has a clear NJ title and is ready to drive away. Good luck and happy bidding! UPDATE: Sorry fellow eBayers but I did not realize the vehicle was listed as salvage; relisting with the correction, however the vehicle is registered, has a good two year inspection sticker and I've been driving for two years, no problems. I will provide a snapshot of the title so there are no more mysteries. Thanks! UPDATE: Picture of title has been added; The vehicle is legal and drivable with a recently updated two year NJ inspection sticker - Thanks! |

NHTSA investigating power modules on Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans
Mon, 29 Sep 2014The Center for Auto Safety is officially petitioning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to begin scrutinizing alleged problems with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on about 24 Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans. The advocacy group claims that the part's failure can cause affected vehicles to stall or not start at all. NHTSA is still looking into the accusations and deciding whether a full investigation is actually warranted.
The CAS petition claims at least 70 TIPM failures, but according to NHTSA, six of the complaints are for models that don't have the modules. In 34 of the reported cases, the vehicles refused to start, and in 17 of them the engine stalled. There were also two allegations of smoke and one of a fire. However, none of these affected airbag deployment or resulted in a crash.
This petition isn't the first TIPM-related problem for Chrysler Group. A recent report in the New York Times alleged that it found 240 complaints potentially related to the issue on NHTSA's website alone. In September, the automaker also recalled 230,760 examples worldwide (188,723 in the US) of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango replace the fuel pump relay circuit inside of the TIPM-7 with one external to the unit. The original part could allegedly cause the models to stall without warning. Even earlier, the company also recalled about 80,000 examples of the Jeep Wrangler and Dodge Nitro in 2007 to have the module reprogrammed.
Jeep's new Chip Away commercial has us hunting Al Pacino's back catalog
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Chrysler has done a pretty good job as of late turning its television commercials into pep talks or rallying cries, but for its first ad for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it turned to Al Pacino's inspirational speech from the movie Any Given Sunday. In the movie, Pacino's character talks about how football is a game of inches, but the commercial, titled Chip Away, focuses more on the attention to detail that Jeep has exhibited on its updated flagship SUV.
Centering around the newest Grand Cherokee model, the luxurious $47,995 Summit trim level, the commercial shows off some of the hand-stitched leathers and real metal and wood accents found inside the cabin. Check out the new 60-second spot by scrolling below.
Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year
Tue, 22 Jan 2013Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.
