This is a truly rare Jeep. It is a 1985 CJ7 Laredo in excellent, absolutely original condition. The mileage is true and correct at 25,000. This really is a time capsule that has been kept in excellent, driving condition. It was purchased from Collins Brothers Jeep approximately 10 years ago and has been garage kept ever since. This Jeep is a true Laredo, with clock and tachometer, chrome wheels with the original jeep locks, chrome grill, chrome front bumper, chrome mirrors, chrome bumperettes, leather-wrapped steering wheel and grab bar, and tinted-window hard top. It is also equipped with an extremely rare sunroof and carpeted tailgate. This is a 100% original jeep with absolutely no reproduction add-ons. All the options on this Jeep are original. The Jeep has been carefully stored for the past decade and is ready to drive. It has the optional AMC cassette player and the speakers work great. The motor is in excellent condition and doesn't miss. This is an extremely rare Jeep, due to its many, many options, automatic transmission, and its absolutely original condition. I am selling this for my father, who has been a Jeep enthusiast for many years and has purchased and restored several Jeeps from Collins Brothers over the years. 2015 Jeep Renegade leaks out ahead of Geneva debut
Mon, 03 Mar 2014Meet the Renegade - Jeep's new baby crossover that's set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week. The folks at Jalopnik got their hands on a small batch of photos of the new little cutie, showing what appears to be a Trailhawk (read: trail-rated) version, as well as a more civilian-spec Renegade, complete with a new removable roof system, reportedly called My Sky.
Details are slim, though in addition to the exterior images, one photo of the interior has also been leaked, showing what appears to be a small, yet functional (and nicely appointed) cabin. Early reports suggested that the new small Jeep would be based on the Fiat 500L platform, though Jalopnik rightly points out that the Renegade looks an awful lot like the Panda 4x4. Regardless, there's still likely some 500L bones under there, and we'll know more once the official details are revealed in the very near future.

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
