Land Rover 110 V8 Stationwagen Lhd on 2040-cars
Rockford, Michigan, United States
This Defender is LHD en located in Michigan. It has been imported this year and passed customs without a problem. The local sheriff did the VIN check and on-road equipment inspections. Applied for the title this week, all the paperwork is good and accepted, but it will take a few weeks before I will have the actual title in hand.
- completely original, body, paint, engine and transmission - 4 speed transmission. In the pictures you will see the lever for a overdrive but this is not installed. - No rust on frame. Some professional welding done on site members. - Bulkhead no rust - Foot wells repaired on driver site, surface rust on passengers site. - Door frames all good, but some surface rust on some doors. Some aluminum corrosion on one rear door. - Interior nice, small rip in driver seat. Car is 9 seater but one of the rear banches, site facing has a non matching trim. Headliner nice, missing some trim parts at the mounting points of the seat belts - power steering - Roof rack with ladder - two spares - Tires 80-90% but spares are less (appr 40%) - small dents in passenger door and on wings - rust hole on C-pillar, driver site This is a really nice car which drives great. Engine always starts, brakes working good. Previous owner had the gearbox overhauled last year. Also in Europe these original cars with LHD are very difficult to find. I don't know much of the history, only that it spend most of its life in Germany. As I don't have the title yet (applied for it) I don't need a full payment yet either. When you win this auction I expect a $ 1,000 down payment withing 24 h. When I have the title in we can work out the remaining balance and delivery of the truck. - |

Jaguar Land Rover calls in handful of vehicles over suspension bolts
Thu, 24 Apr 2014With most recalls seemingly affecting mass-market vehicles, it'd be all too easy to assume, consciously or otherwise, that higher-end automobiles never face such issues. But the main reason we don't see the NHTSA recalling more luxury automobiles isn't because of their quality, we'd postulate: it's because of their relative scarcity.
Take Jaguar Land Rover, recalls of whose vehicles we only seem to have cause to report about once a year. So if you're figuring they're about due, here you go. The Indian-owned British auto group has just announced two recalls, both regarding suspension components: one affecting Jaguars and another concerning - you guessed it - Land Rovers.
First up we have a recall for 2013 to 2014 model year Jaguar XJ, XF and XK models - a whopping 297 of them - which have been found to have problematic toe links. Separation of the toe link from the rear sub-frame could result in impaired stability and control over the vehicle's direction, so JLR is calling them in to replace the nuts and washers on the rear toe links.
These are the top luxury cars bought by people entering the segment for the first time
Fri, 25 Jul 2014Let's say you just got a big promotion at work or the kids are moving out of the house, and you finally have some extra money. You decide to blow it all at once and treat yourself by upgrading your ride. Naturally, you look to a luxury automaker. What do you choose?
Models like the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class may be tailor-made to introduce buyers to the premium segment, but a new study finds that they don't garner the highest rates of non-luxury customer conquests. It turns out that a Volvo leads among folks moving up to a premium brand, and it isn't even one that's made anymore, at that.
A recent study by Polk and IHS Automotive looked at what models had the highest rates of buyers upgrading from a non-luxury segment. The information comes from its new vehicle registration data through April 2014. All ten top models boasted conquest rates of over 50 percent, but the Volvo C70 led the field with 68.01 percent of its customers coming from non-premium brands.
Tata to get Jaguar and Land Rover tech, platforms too?
Tue, 22 Jul 2014Since buying Jaguar Land Rover, Indian automaker Tata has generally left its luxury arm's platforms and technology alone. However, those days might be gone. The two of them are gradually growing closer with coordinated development and rumors of shared platforms. And it looks like all of that work and money is finally going to pay off with an actual vehicle in the near future.
According to Australian website Drive, Tata wants to make its cars more attractive to buyers outside of India, and to do that the company knows it must improve quality. The Indian company is being careful, though, because it doesn't want to dilute the Jaguar or Land Rover brands with cheap models. "You're going to see in the future a lot of sharing of technologies and platforms over time, but you won't see a JLR with a Tata badge on it," said Darren Bowler, managing director of Tata's Australian distributor, to Drive.
According to Bowler, these future vehicles are already on the way. Tata and JLR have a global platform in the works for 2017 that both companies could use for cars or crossovers. He also hinted that Jaguar's new Ingenium engines could be shared among the brands in the future, too.
