We are selling our beautiful 2009 Lexus GX 470, because of gas mileage. It averages 16.9 in the city and 22 on the highway.
It is a great SUV and sits high, but drives like a luxury Lexus car. We purchased it with 124k miles on it.
We knew the prior owner and they put highway miles on the car and had it serviced properly. It has had timing belt
replaced and has Michelin tires that have a lot of life left. At 124k, we changed the oil and put on new brake rotors.

The car has every luxury and upgrade that you would expect in a Lexus. It is pearl white on the exterior with tan leather
interior. It has woodgrain accents on the dash and panels and a woodgrain steering wheel with controls on the wheel. It
has the upgraded Mark Levinson sound system with bluetooth connectivity for your smartphone and AUX player,
6 Disc Changer or cassette. The phone system is very neat and allows the owner to sync several smartphones' phonebooks,
plus, it has a one-touch favorites list to call when the car is going over 10 mph. The NAV system is always on, but when
the vehicle is in reverse, the backup camera pops up. It also has homelink garage door opener and a
compass. (In case you get lost on your way home!)

The windshield has a large crack and several chips in it but it does not affect the driver or the passenger.
It has a compass in the mirror, great compartments for storage and has the back seats folded up for more storage.
The back door opens sideways (the only SUV on the market that does this), but this allows for ease of lifting for groceries and such.
The passenger door has a mark where the tan paint has rubbed off and there is wear along the gearshift. I cleaned it, and
it is just the design of the materials and paint used. The large storage compartment between the front seats has a split in the top,
but it still closes and opens fine. The back bumper has a scratch where paint is missing (about 1/2" mark). The exterior has
a few bumps and scratches, but it is still in good condition, and in my opinion does not even require touch up paint.
This car has always lived in Alabama, thus clean underneath--no salt=no corrosion!

The first owner bought Lexus rubber mats (very thick) and never exposed the undermats, so they're like new!
The SUV comes with the original owners manual, the manual for the navigation system and the DVD with it.
It also has 1 valet key, 1 Lexus card key,and 2 keys with panic, lock and unlock buttons = 4 keys total.

I have tried to describe this very well, but feel free to ask any questions.

Toyota and Lexus show off advanced safety research vehicle [w/video]

Tue, 08 Jan 2013

While Google and Audi explore the possibilities of autonomous vehicles, Toyota and its Lexus division are studying the intermediate step of vehicles equipped with a deep suite of technology that help drivers make the best decisions. Introduced at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Lexus advanced safety research vehicle is an LS sedan fitted with three high-def color cameras to detect objects up to almost 500 feet away, 360-degree Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) lasers that can detect objects up to 220 feet away, three radar units to keep track of other vehicles at intersections, a precision odometer on the rear wheel, GPS that estimates orientation and an accelerometer.
Currently testing at a purpose-built 8.6 acre urban testing ground at the Higashi-Fuji Technical Center in Susono, Japan the Toyota research vehicle is being used to study how to make better drivers, as well as figuring out how to reduce crashes as the industry's journey through passive and active safety systems progresses. In the event of a crash, new rescue systems are also being tested.
Further investment is being put into the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) that would use shortwave signals to harness information from the car and from other vehicles on the road, as well as roadside infrastructure and even pedestrians. Toyota reasons it could then build a picture of interactions and, for instance, alert the driver to a potential collision at a blind intersection.

Lexus parts prices cut in China amidst antitrust fears

Mon, 25 Aug 2014

It's been a topsy-turvy summer for foreign businesses in China ever since that country's National Development and Reform Commission and State Administration for Industry & Commerce launched a horde of investigations into anti-monopoly practices. When the law outlining monopolistic behavior was passed in 2008 foreign companies appreciated it, expecting it to illuminate some of the more opaque corners of Chinese government enforcement. That hasn't exactly been the case, and now as more than 1,000 auto-sector firms get investigated and pay huge fines to settle the nebulous charge of having prices that are too high, that hoped-for clarity is all but gone.
A recent news report said Audi, Chrysler and Daimler "would be punished for unspecified violations" concerning the prices of spare parts. Earlier this month Toyota said that Lexus China was being looked at, and before there's been any public notification of punishment Lexus has decided to lower the price of its replacement parts. From next month, customers will save an average of 26 percent on roughly 15,000 parts. It's unknown whether the move will appease authorities enough to end the investigation, which outside analysts have said targets foreign firms in China over domestic industry.

Production Lexus NX leaked in Jim Lentz presentation?

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

Before kicking off the Detroit Auto Show, the Society of Automotive Analysts had Toyota CEO Jim Lentz come on stage to say some words about the future of the auto industry, as well as what's coming for Toyota. While this type of information would normally stay off our radar, a video of his speech likely gives us our first look - albeit low-res - at the production version of the Lexus NX compact crossover.
In the video recorded by AmericaJR, Lentz refers to the turbocharged LF-NX Concept that was on display at the Tokyo Motor Show, but comparing this image to our gallery from Tokyo, there are clear differences between the two vehicles. These include the toned-down shape of the spindle grille, lower fascia crease and door mirrors as well as a headlight design that more closely resembles that of the 2014 IS sedan and the newly introduced RC coupe. From what we can see of the rest of this image, the NX should retain some of the LF-NX's angular side body creases. The vehicle you see above basically looks ready for production.
If this is in fact the NX, then reports of a Geneva debut for the luxury crossover seem even more accurate. The entire video is posted below, but the NX comes on screen around the 10:40 mark.
