2002 Lexus Sc Convertible In Rare Beautiful Dark Amethist Color, No Reserve on 2040-cars
Cadillac, Michigan, United States
This is my wife’s car, it has been driven carefully and meticulously maintained. Non smoker, no pets. Paint and interior are clean and in excellent condition. Runs and drives perfectly, I would drive it anywhere. Stored winters. This Lexus comes with American Racing chrome casino wheels and also included are the 4 original rims. It has Michelon Pilot HSMXM4 tires with approx.50% tread left and has a space saver spare that has never been used. Oil changes were done regularly with Mobil 1 full synthetic oil. Also we have changed the transmission fluid, differential fluid, and antifreeze twice. It had new brakes at 97,000 miles so they are in excellent condition. The Lexus required 100,000 mile maintenance was done which included among other things a new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and spark plugs. All maintenance is complete and up to date so you can drive it without having to do any maintenance. It is a great car and we have really enjoyed owning it. It is being sold now because we have purchased a new car. The pictures were taken this past October when it went into storage. Delivery is possibly for my costs if the distance isn’t to far. |

2013 Lexus ES earns five stars from NHTSA
Wed, 05 Dec 2012The 2013 Lexus ES has earned a five-star crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The 2013 ES 350 and ES 300h hybrid earned the highest ratings in each of the government's crash evaluations, including overall driver safety, frontal crashes and overall side impacts, save one. The sedan only achieved a four-star rating in the NHTSA rollover protection test, but that fault wasn't enough to keep the vehicle from earning a five-star designation overall.
The announcement doesn't mention the recent Consumer Reports claim that the ES comes with a faulty emergency trunk release that can be easily broken in a panic situation.
As you may recall, the 2013 ES 350 carries an MSRP of $36,100, plus an $895 destination fee and offers buyers a 268-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 good for 248 pound-feet of torque, as well. The ES 300h, meanwhile, stickers at $38,850 plus the same destination charge.
These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky
Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.
2014 Lexus IS 250 AWD F Sport
Fri, 08 Nov 2013"Ooh, this looks fun!" my otherwise car-ignorant friend said as we walked up to the 2014 Lexus IS 250 F Sport. And yeah, it does look fun. In fact, despite my initial strong negative reaction to the design, I've really warmed up to this new IS, especially with the flashier F Sport package found on this test car (unique front fascia, 18-inch dark alloy wheels and appropriate badging). Even though that rear end still looks a bit Droopy Dog to me (stop frowning, Lexus), the IS is sharp, though I'm not entirely sure that such a bold design will age well.
"Looks can be deceiving," I told my friend, and we hit the road... slowly. You see, despite looking like a fresh, modern sport sedan, the IS 250 still uses what is, quite frankly, a dog of an engine. And that, combined with dynamics that are just so-so at best, makes for a sedan that's all show and no go. Say hello to Jennifer Slowpez.
