This 2003 Lexus SC 430 hardtop convertible is in excellent shape, a beauty with only 72,550 miles. The color is Twilight Amethyst Pearl, with ecru leather interior and gold wood-grain trim. It has a new Premium Pioneer Sound System with Bluetooth, cable for iPod or other external music source, AM/FM CD player, installed in December 2012. The 65,000 mile inspection was performed in January 2013 and NEW TIRES were mounted at that time. The new tires are still under warranty. This car has always been serviced at Lexus of Orlando. The radio antenna and antenna motor are new. The convertible hardtop motor works beautifully and has never had a problem. There are a few tiny paint chips on the edge of the driver door. The navigation system is obsolete and cannot be upgraded; it was therefore disconnected when the new sound system was installed in December 2012 The car has Lojack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System. Lexus RC configurator comes alive, priced from $42,790*
Sat, 15 Nov 2014Fancy yourself an example of Lexus' take on the BMW 4 Series and Audi A5? Well, now you can customize your very own RC on Lexus' consumer website. With prices starting at $42,790 for a rear-drive model while an all-wheel-drive RC kicks off at $45,025. Neither price includes Lexus' *$925 destination charge.
With a wild (by Lexus' standards) color palette and the option of regular and F Sport trims, there's a fair amount to play with in this configurator. That said, it follows the brand's typical strategy of offering colors and upholsteries along with a wide range of pre-determined options packages.
For those waiting on the configurator for the RC F, it looks like you'll have to wait a big longer, as Lexus hasn't launched a builder for its high-performance, 467-horsepower, $63,325 coupe. Stay tuned for that one.
Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Lexus RC F GT3 Racing Concept threatens to go racing
Fri, 28 Feb 2014In case you needed more proof that the Lexus RC F is a statement car intended to scream "This is not your father's brand" (yes, we're paraphrasing the tagline of another automaker), here it is: the Lexus RC F GT3 Racing Concept. Lexus introduced a GT500-spec version of the RC F at the Tokyo Auto Salon last month, but this GT3-spec entrant and its Reading Rainbow paint job will get to show off at the Geneva Motor Show to whet the appetites of European racing outfits.
Although referred to as a concept, it will shake that name off when it completes a season of testing this year. Next year, Lexus will make it available to paying customers, and says the car will be cleared to race in the Occident and in Japan's Super GT series alongside its GT500 cousin.
