I am selling an original 1965 Lincoln Continental 4 door sedan. This car is all original and it runs and drives. This car is a great candidate for restoration, with minimal rust due to it's origins of Colorado where the climate is much dryer, and they don't use salt. There is some rust bubbling up by back edge of each fender well. The frame, floors and trunk pan are solid. This car originally had a vinyl top which I have taken off, and had painted the period correct white. The interior will need to be reworked as the seats are stained, the dash pad has cracks, the carpet is raided, and the leather is dry and cracked. The rear seat needs to be put back in place as the lower section has been unhooked. There has been an aftermarket stereo mounted nicely under the dash, and speakers in the rear package tray. This car has air conditioning, but it will need to be charged and checked for leaks. The exhaust has a leak at the manifold, and the tranny has a slow leak when not driven. This is the first year of disc brakes for the Lincoln, and I have to admit that this car will stop on the dime. The car does run well, but can be a bit cold blooded when not driven, and second gear can sometimes be a bit soft at first. The stainless on the body is in very good shape with some very minor dings in a couple of places. The glass is good, and the motors work most of the time. I would recommend going through the wiring for show quality. This car has a clear title that is in my name. I do welcome international bidders as I accept money wires. Cashiers checks will have to clear before the car and paperwork leave the premises. The buyer is responsible for the payment, and arrangements of shipping for this car. Please email with any questions. I am more than happy to help.

Is Lincoln MKC cutting into Cadillac SRX sales?
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The two big American luxury brands of Cadillac and Lincoln are on surprisingly similar paths at the moment with both divisions hoping to redefine themselves and grow popularity. They're still early in the process with no clear winner yet, but things might actually be looking up for Lincoln's latest model, according to a monthly sales analysis from The Motley Fool. It seems, at least early on, that the new MKC crossover might be taking a bite out of the Cadillac SRX's growth.
The MKC launched just a few months ago and has been getting a big marketing push from a series of oft-mocked ads starring the smooth-talking Matthew McConaughey. The luxury CUV has been the popular, new kid on the block with growing sales since its introduction. While smaller than the SRX, the Lincoln starts at a lower price and offers better fuel economy.
Through June, the SRX performed well with sales up over 20 percent on average through June, according to The Motley Fool. However, July and August saw things plummet with year-over-year drops of 7 percent and 37 percent, respectively. It still far outsold the MKC in terms of actual units in a given month, but the Caddy's continued growth has appeared to stagnate.

Lincoln poised to double MKZ Hybrid production
Thu, 18 Jul 2013The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid has been something of a hit for Ford since the beginning, exceeding the company's modest projected 15-percent take rate for more than two years (we say "modest" because that still means an overwhelming majority of Lincoln customers are passing up on the gas-electric powertrain even though it costs the same as the standard model). Either way, Lincoln builds 700 MKZ Hybrids at its plant in Mexico each month, but has sold 715 of them in each of the past three months. That's why, according to a report in The Detroit News, when the restyled 2014 MKZ Hybrid arrives (non-hybrid pictured), Ford is doubling production compared to 2013. Instead of the hybrid model being 20 percent of production, the new hybrid will make up 40 percent.
Ford is doing well with hybrids in general - its portion of the electrified vehicle segment jumping 12 points in a single year to 16 percent. Assuming Ford doesn't change the pricing strategy (along with the changes Ford is making to calibration to improve fuel economy), the sedan could continue to "[show] other luxury hybrids how it's done" when it goes on sale later this year.
