FOR SALE TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER - THERE IS A LOW MIN ON THIS ITEM.
1979 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL - EXCELLENT SHAPE - HAS BEEN IN THE GARAGE FOR LIFE AND OWNED BY A LITTLE OLD LADY. SHE PASSED AWAY RECENTLY AND I AM SELLING THIS CAR AS THE SECOND OWNER. With the car comes a clear title, a maintenance record (see CARFAX) - the miles are actual miles and can be verified. This car has no cracks in anything except the seats (all Lincoln seats cracked) - nothing is damaged in this car and from the hubcaps, rims and all original glass and lenses - with a leather and uncracked top - this car is a winner.
My vision was to paint it black, die the top black, lower it by a couple inches and clean up the interior and put in a kick ass stereo system - wow what dream car. Well - my girlfriend says there is no room in our apartment complex so I have to sell it to pay the rent of this too small for a a cool car apartment.
My loss is your gain. Here is what I know -
1) needs valve covers and a AC belt.
2) the car will travel but should be towed.
3) the radiator and battery are new.
4) i would change all the oils since it was sitting idle in a garage since late 2011.
5) a good tune up would be advised but I fired this up after a year of sitting and drove it close to 50 miles before I parked it.
THE CAR IS SOLD AS IS AND WHERE IS - THE BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL TRANSPORTATION COSTS - I WILL PROMISE YOU THAT YOU WILL NEVER FIND A CAR IN THIS CONDITION OF THIS QUALITY. HAPPY BIDDING AND GOOD LUCK. THE CAR HAS A HALF A TANK OF FRESH GASOLINE AND I WILL THROUGH IN THE THE PINK FLAMINGOS -
THE CAR NEED A VACUUM IN THE BACK SINCE THE LADY OWNED A GERMAN SHEPPARD WHO RODE IN THE BACK - THE SEATS ARE CRACKED IN THE FRONT AND BACK BUT ARE TOTALLY COMPLETE AND NOT RIPPED.

GM design boss Welburn says Lincoln isn't a Cadillac rival [w/poll]
Thu, 05 Dec 2013General Motors Vice President of Global Design, Ed Welburn, had some dismissive words for a certain cross-town luxury brand during an interview with Car and Driver. When asked about his thoughts on Lincoln, Welburn deflected, before saying, "I don't consider Lincoln to be a competitor for Cadillac."
"They're not a global luxury brand. I don't consider them a competitor. Are they a competitor for Buick? Quite possibly. But not for Cadillac," GM's head designer explained. Welburn, who's been at the helm of GM Design North America since 2003 and is the first to hold the position of VP of Global Design, has been instrumental in the styling renaissance at GM, so predictably, Car and Driver's interview with him focused on the design aspect of cars.
During the interview, Welburn explicitly denied plans for a reborn Cadillac XLR, even as a new Chevrolet Corvette is hitting the market and strides are being made with Cadillac's V-Series performance arm saying, "We have a lot of cars that we're working on for the Cadillac brand. The XLR is not one of them right now."
Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment
Thu, 20 Mar 2014One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.
2015 Lincoln Navigator
Mon, 15 Sep 2014Typically, when I approach a new vehicle launch, it's with a degree of optimism. Nowadays, we just expect that every new vehicle will pose a legitimate challenge to segment leaders. Mid-cycle refreshes, meanwhile, have taken on a greater degree of importance, as customers' preferences for the freshest vehicles remains strong and automakers rush to keep the latest tech in their offerings.
Conversely, I admit to not being terribly optimistic hopping into the 2015 Lincoln Navigator. I was the first person from Autoblog to see the new model in the metal, way back in January ahead of its Chicago Auto Show debut, and my initial reaction was far from positive. But, as I'd been the one that initially tested the new Cadillac Escalade and had just finished a week in the long-wheelbase version of General Motors' most premium SUV, I was a natural candidate to head down to Louisville, KY - home of Navigator production - to sample the brand's latest.
Lincoln's attempt at freshening the old Navigator's bling-bling face is pretty typical of today's more thorough mid-cycle refreshes, with dramatically new front and rear clips. The addition of standard 20-inch wheels or optional 22s - in place of standard 18s and optional 20s - goes a long way towards modernizing the Navigator's staid exterior. The cabin, meanwhile, is home to finer leather, which covers most of the dash as well as the steering wheel and seats. Warm Ziricote wood would prove to be a particular highlight on the top-flight Reserve model that I drove (the only trim available for us to test).
