1999 Lincoln Continental 100% CLEAN TITLE IN HAND --
ONLY NEEDS THE TRANSMISSION FIXED! EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS 100%

Selling my 1999 Lincoln Continental: Car has 139K miles everything works in the car except the transmission (it just recently started leaking pretty heavily from the pan), I have been told it could be a cheap fix or need to replace the whole thing? I am not a mechanic so please don't ask me. What I do know is one day this car was driving EXCELLENT, and the next day, it was leaking onto the exhaust pipe, and that is bottom line! Only other thing that is "wrong" with this car is on the passenger side rear door there is a rust spot that I am not sure how to fix but a body man may be able to tell you, the other thing which is rather minor is the headliner is sagging. This car was originally from NY State we drove it down here when we moved back down to FL less than 2 years ago.

So if you're a mechanic, and know what the problem is, and think this is worth it for you, you may have yourself a nice luxury car. The tires on this car are almost NEW! I paid over $300.00 for them and they still have 97% tread life on them!! Brakes were recently done within the year (January I think), Air conditioning works, air suspension works, and all the gauges. I have the title in hand. So if you're interested please contact me, and let me know.

I WILL NOT SHIP THIS VEHICLE: BUYER WILL BE HELD 100% for transportation of this vehicle. BUYER WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING WITH THIS VEHICLE THIS IS BEING SOLD AS IS AS SEEN I AM OFFERING NO WARRANTY;
OTHER THAN I PROMISE THE CAR WILL START AND RUN: IT WILL NOT DRIVE DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION!!! THE TILE IS CLEAN AND I HAVE THE TITLE IN HAND
I HAVE GIVEN A FULL DISCLOSURE!

If you have any questions prior to bidding on this, please ask don't assume. Don't ask me if I know what is wrong with the  transmission. I am not a mechanic, and I am not paying a mechanic to come to my house to have me charge him to tell me there is a problem with it.
I work on computers I am no auto mechanic. I know this, IF someone were to repair, replace the transmission, you will have one awesome running and driving Lincoln. If you are local I encourage you come by, and take a look at it, you cannot take it for a drive, unless you're paying for the car in person! But I will start it up, so you can hear it run, see the air conditioning, the air suspension and everything else is 100% working order.

I have this car for sale listed locally as well, and reserve the rights to remove this auction at any point in time if sold prior to auction end.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

Thu, 10 May 2012

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

Ford faces class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles without brake override systems

Fri, 29 Mar 2013

A total of 20 Ford customers are suing the automaker in a class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles "vulnerable to unintended acceleration." According to Reuters, the suit names 30 models built between 2002 and 2010 with electronic throttle control systems but without a brake override system. Those include the 2004-2012 F-Series pickups and the 2005-2009 Lincoln Town Car. Adam Levitt, a partner with the law firm of Grant & Eisenhofer says the plaintiffs in the case want "to be compensated for their economic losses by having overpaid for cars that contained defects." Levitt contends that the plaintiffs would not have bought their vehicles or paid less for them had they known there was no brake override system in place.
Ford began installing brake override systems in its vehicles beginning in 2010. In response to the lawsuit, Ford has pointed to research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that indicated that unintended acceleration is mostly caused by driver error, saying in a statement that, "NHTSA's work is far more scientific and trustworthy than work done by personal injury lawyers and their paid experts."
Belville et al v. Ford Motor Co. will be heard in US District Court in the Southern District of West Virginia.

Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.
