Super nice 1971 Lincoln Mark III 2 door coupe that drives as nice as it looks with super strong and dependable original Ford 460 V-8 motor with under 95000 original miles. Automatic transmission that was rebuilt at a cost of about $1,100 and shifts perfect, Power steering, Power brakes, Power windows, Power seat, AM/FM radio, Rim blow horn,Rebuilt front end at a cost of $1,500 that makes this car cruise super nice down the road.

The only two modifications on this car are the 20" wheels with low profile tires at a cost of $1,350 and straight pipe muflers to give it a resto-mod feel.(Both items can be easily changed back to stock if this look is not your thing).

If you are looking for a California Classic Lincoln for cruising out to dinner or local car shows this is it and it is ready to drive and enjoy  now . The over all condition is excellent with only some minor things that can be fixed if you like such as back small power windows, power seat, cracks in dash and antenna. The paint is nice but does show some wear and chips when you get up close.

This Mark III is very nice and I am asking a very fair price to allow who ever buys it to dial it in and make it their own without having $13,000 to $20,000 tied up in a nice classic.

Lincoln to adopt Mini-like personalization strategy?

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

There's no single silver bullet that will cure all that ails the Lincoln brand, and Ford knows that just as surely as we do. Coming out with exciting new models like the well-received MKC crossover counts as several steps in the right direction, assuming of course that the production version is as appealing as the concept just shown at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, but more is needed. According to Jim Farley, executive vice president of Lincoln, one more trick may be "mass customization."
Put another way, Lincoln is considering ways to allow buyers to customize their new vehicles right off the showroom floor, similar to how things are done at Mini, and, to a lesser extent, Scion, where Farley previously served as corporate manager. Imagine, for instance, ordering a new MKC with a large Lincoln insignia embossed into the leather seatbacks, according to Automotive News.
While we're not so sure anybody is all that interested in paying extra for more Lincoln logos, it's a strategy that has proven rather fruitful at Mini. Only time will tell if Ford's erstwhile luxury division will once again be seen as something truly worth reaching for, and if customers are willing to pay a further premium for customization.

Lincoln needs a farewell address, not a new marketing plan

Tue, 09 Apr 2013

The trouble with Ford's Lincoln brand is that no one cares about it any more.
Not long after I heard that Mark LaNeve, chief operating officer of Ford agency Team Detroit, was moving to take over direct operations of the New York ad agency Hudson Rouge for Lincoln, I heard that JCPenney CEO Ron Johnson was ousted. The two events are connected.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.
