2006 Lincoln Mark LT
4x4 Pickup
Just over 5,000 original miles!

Every once in a while an opportunity presents itself to buy a vehicle that has depreciated after the first few years but hardly used.  If you are looking at this you already know exactly what a Lincoln truck is and how rare they are being built only 3 years.  First there was the Blackwood, then they tried it again with this truck, the Mark LT.  It also was discontinued in 2008 with very few having been built.  Whether you are a Lincoln collector or just want to buy an almost new truck for less than new Harley, this represents the best of the best.  Fully optioned with the following features:
  • 4x4
  • Moonroof
  • Power Adjustable Pedals
  • Power Sliding Rear Window
  • Factory Spray-in Bed Liner
  • Chrome Tube Step Bars
  • Chrome Box Bed Rails
  • White Tri-Coat (pearl) with White leather and dark piping
  • 20" Polished Wheels (no chrome to pit or flake later)
  • Factory Satellite Radio
What an incredible combination of style, performance, options, and low usage!  The only two items that keep this truck from being perfect are the following:
  • 1/2 Scratch on the right front wheel
  • Driver's side mirror was damaged and poorly repaired.
Realistically priced and ready for delivery anywhere.  Figure .50 cents a mile delivery or less to most US cities and ports in the US.  We have the title in our office and the truck is safely stored inside our secure warehouse.  It was traded recently to a new car dealer in Iowa City, Iowa.  It was NOT driven in the winter and has no salt or unusual rust issues normally associated with northern cars and trucks.  You may find a nicer truck with less miles but it will take some time and I serious doubt it will be priced this low.

If you are a Florida resident you will be responsible for Florida sales tax and any local applicable taxes.  We charge NO dealer fees!

Ford recalls 83k Taurus and crossover models for halfshaft issue

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a recall for some 83,250 vehicles in the US, for an issue with halfshafts. More specifically a "halfshaft retention circlip" might not have been properly installed on affected vehicles, with the result being halfshafts that may move improperly or disengage completely from the linkshaft while driving. The NHTSA release also notes that the issue may occur "without prior warning" which obviously factors in to the timeliness of getting this checked.
Should the halfshaft disengage, a few troubling things could happen. If it occurs while driving, power from the engine will no longer be transmitted to the wheels. And, if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied after disengagement of the circlip, vehicles may roll away even if they're transmissions have been placed in "Park."
Affected vehicles are as follows: Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers from model years 2012 to 2014; Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS sedans from model years 2013 to 2014; Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles from model years 2013 to 2014.

NHTSA upgrades Ford floor mat unintended acceleration probe

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

According to a Bloomberg report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has upgraded an investigation into complaints of unintended acceleration lodged against Ford vehicles. The investigation began in June of 2010 when just three complaints had been received and it only concerned the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but this was at a time when the phrase "unintended acceleration" made grown men go pale. With 49 additional complaints received since then, the investigation has been reclassified as an engineering analysis - the last phase before a recall - and it has been expanded to include the Lincoln MKZ, making for a total of "around 480,000" units affected between the three sedans from the 2008 to 2010 model years.
The ostensible cause is that floor mats are trapping the accelerator pedal, but according to a Ford statement at the time, the entrapment is due to owners placing the optional all-weather floor mats, or aftermarket floor mats, on top of the car's standard floor mats. NHTSA has backed up that assessment, pinning the blame on "unsecured or double stacked floor mats."
On the face of it, it would appear that NHTSA has upgraded the status not because of Ford's error, but owner error, and Ford has stated publicly that it is "disappointed" in NHTSA's move. On top of NHTSA still being skittish after that other unintended acceleration debacle, it could be seen to be taking its time investigating all of the variables: it's reported that Ford changed its accelerator pedal design in 2010, a "heel blocker" in the floorpan has been considered a potential culprit in how the floor mats could be trapping the pedal, some drivers have said the floor mats weren't anywhere near the pedal, and according to a report in the LA Times, in "a letter sent by Ford to NHTSA in August 2010, the automaker said it found three injuries and one fatality that 'may have resulted from the alleged defect.'"

Lincoln to resurrect old nameplates for China?

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

Judging by the success that many luxury automakers are currently experiencing in China, it's no surprise that Lincoln plans to take advantage of the situation by peddling its wares across the Pacific. Lincoln will open its first Chinese dealership next year, but potential buyers there won't be mucking through the same alphabet soup of car names found in American showrooms. USA Today reports that Ford's luxury car division could revert back to legacy names (like Continental and Zephyr) in China while keeping the MK_ names here in North America.
In speaking to Ford exec Jim Farley during the LA Auto Show, USA Today says that Lincoln could switch its naming structure as models are refreshed. Farley didn't confirm that the naming revamp would be a China-only decision, but article leaves little hope that American buyers will get to see the return of classic names anytime soon.
Why would Ford rehash old Lincoln names for China only? Buyers there seem to have a better historical associations with the nameplates than in the US. Chinese also still hold Lincoln in high regard, associating the marque with use by prominent government officials.
