I am a confident seller. I purchased this vehicle at 15,000 miles. Based on questions I have already received thus far, the sticky tires, tow hooks, spoiler, and diffuser were installed for aesthetics. This car has never been tracked, was never wrecked, and all body panels are completely original. Most of its miles consisted of highway travel to and from work in the Austin area upon arriving mid-2013. No maintenance is needed at this time outside of its next oil change. The last was completed at 23,800 miles and will need to be changed again around the 27,000 mile mark. If you are interested, I also have a pair of ramps purchased at Harbor Freight Tools should you not have a pair. Also Included Upgraded CDE 143BT head unit; CD, MP3, USB, Bluetooth, AUX compatible Hardwire connection for most radar detectors The car is equipped with keyless entry and comes with two keys Custom-fit Heatshield windshield reflector OEM diffuser Available for Added Purchase Uninstalled pair of new 5.25” JL C2-525x speakers and needed adapter rings = $140 Valentine One radar locator and windshield mount = $300

Lotus Elise, Exige recalled over oil line fire risk

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Lotus is recalling 451 examples of the Elise and Exige from the 2007 and 2008 model years. The cars in question, built from December 1, 2006 to October 31, 2007 could be affected by an oil cooler line that detaches from its fitting. If the line comes loose it could release oil onto the engine and possibly start a fire, or onto a tire and potentially cause a crash.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates the recall is expected to begin on March 4. Notified owners can take their cars to their dealers for repairs to the lateral oil cooler hose and hose fittings. You'll find the full release from the NHTSA below with more information.

Lotus spotted testing more extreme Elise on the Nordschleife

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

If we had a nickel for every version of the Elise that Lotus has rolled out over the years, we might actually have enough spare change to buy one ourselves. And we're not even talking about the entire separate models (like the Exige and Europa) that Lotus has based on the Elise's platform or the other automakers' cars (like the Tesla Roadster and Hennessey Venom GT) that have used the same. And now Lotus appears to be testing another one.
Spotted lapping the Nürburgring, what we're looking at here appears to be the track-bound Elise S Cup R, but our intrepid paparazzi by the side of the track tell us it's missing the switches for the battery isolator and fire extinguisher. In their place, this Elise is wearing an even bigger rear wing as part of an altogether rather aggressive aero kit - not to mention a rockin' matte red wrap.
All of these telltales make us think Lotus has something extreme in the works, and we could find out what exactly it is as early as the Paris Motor Show in October, so stay tuned and watch this space.

Lotus bankruptcy case dismissed in UK

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Times have not been easy for Lotus lately, so when its name came up on a list of companies scheduled for a liquidation court, it seemed like the end could be near for the fabled British builder of lightweight sports cars. As it turns out, Lotus was on the Companies Court Winding Up list in the UK due to a contractual dispute with a supplier, and the High Court has since dismissed the case.
According to Autocar, Lotus and the supplier actually resolved their issue earlier in the year, but the process couldn't be stopped until seen by a judge. The report says that the case was initiated when Group Lotus failed to pay some of its debts, which is probably a fair indication that Lotus is far from out of the weeds in regards to its financial difficulties.
