2006 Lotus Exige Convertible on 2040-cars
Greenwich, Connecticut, United States
Extremely Rare 2006 Lotus Exige, pampered, in excellent condition, recently repainted and with long list of upgrades. The car drives and performs significantly better than when it was new and has no issues or defects.
Car comes with an extra set of 4 lightweight SSR wheels and tires. It has a OEM hard top for the winter and OEM soft top for the summer. Just jump in the car and enjoy the summer. Over $28 000 Spent on Upgrades:
I bought the car after the previous owner swiped the safety tires on the first lap on a track with 8000 miles on the odometer and 3 months after he bought the car. The damage was cosmetic to both front and rear clams and right door and mirror. I replaced the damaged fiberglass with brand new Lotus parts, and painted the car in the color of my choice. I have owned the car for pretty much its entire life and driven it 55 000 miles. There have been no issues with the car performance, alignment or any systems. |

James Bond Lotus submarine sells in London for $966,560
Wed, 11 Sep 2013With the $966,560 sale ($863,000 plus a 12-percent buyer's premium) of the white 1977 Lotus Esprit S1 submarine used in the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, we now know "the Roger Moore discount."
Recall that Sean Connery's silver 1964 Goldfinger Aston Martin DB5 was sold by RM Auctions in London in 2010 for $4.6 million. Three years later, the same auction company in the same city has sold the aforementioned Lotus for just under $1 million.
An unscientific poll of those in the room showed that people preferred Sean Connery's Bond to Roger Moore's by a rate of four to one. And thus it translated into the bidding for their respective cars. No word on the identity of the buyer or his plans for what is, in fact, a working submarine.
Coca-Cola returning to F1 with Lotus sponsorship [w/videos]
Sat, 24 Nov 2012Even before Red Bull Racing became a record-breaking three-time Constructor's Champion in Formula One, it has dominated conversations both as a team and as an energy drink. After seven years of "Red Bull this" and "Red Bull that," Coca-Cola is reportedly ready to jump into the F1 fray with its Sweden-based energy drink Burn.
Rumors had placed Coca-Cola's entry with McLaren F1, but it's actually Lotus that has secured the deal. We have no idea what the sponsorship will look like, but the website for Burn says that "We [intend] to foster that creativity by incorporating art and music in a way that will break the conventions of traditional F1 sponsorship," Lotus F1 team principal Eric Boullier adding "We are excited to partner with burn to build a new and innovative model for sponsorships that will combine experiences, content creation and social media..."
Since most - including this writer - have no idea what Burn is, we've included a couple of Burn commercial spots to help get us up to speed, which you'll find below. The 2012 season hasn't even ended, and we're already looking forward to 2013...
Lotus F1 confirms Grosjean, Maldonado for 2015
Wed, 19 Nov 2014With the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix now just ten days away, the focus is beginning to shift to next year's Formula One World Championship, with more and more pieces to the puzzle falling into place. And the latest news comes from the Lotus team. The Enstone-based outfit has confirmed that it's keeping both its drivers right where they are for next season, with Romain Grosjean partnering Pastor Maldonado once again.
Swiss driver Grosjean, now 28 years old, made his grand prix debut with the team in 2009, returned as test driver in 2011 while winning the GP2 title, returned to the F1 grid in 2012 and has been driving for the team ever since. He's scored nine podium finishes to date, but has finished no better than his eighth place this season.
Venezuelan pilot Maldonado, 29, won the GP2 the year before his teammate, and moved up to F1 with Williams, for whom he drove for three seasons before switching to Lotus for this one. He shocked the field when he won the Spanish Grand Prix in 2012, but has only finished in the points once this season.
