I am selling my NA 2006 Lotus Exige in Solar Yellow. I have owned it since October 2014. I purchased it with 14k miles from Autoquest in Ft. Myers, FL. It has been my daily driver since then and now sits at 44,000 miles. My commute is 75 miles per day, 70 miles of that being highway. It has been very reliable and has made the commute a blast for almost two years. I am sad to sell it, but I have the itch to get into another toy. I have not tracked the car, but did one autocross day. Its a blast to drive! The oil recall was compeleted. This Exige was optioned with the touring pack, track pack, LSD, starshield, and floormats with aluminum buttons. The following tasteful mods have been compelted: -Toda flywheel and ACT Clutch - Forcefed Header - 2bular Exhaust - 2bular Diffuser - Nitron Singles Coilovers - gPan 3 baffled oil pan - TRACK mounts motor mounts - RTD brace - Stiffy 2 Chassis Brace - Boomerand Tow Hook - Aluminum Jacking Pins - Fire Extinguisher - Stainless Steel Brake Lines -Genuine Lotus Sport Carbon Fiber Wing -Carbon Fiber front splitter -Carbon Fiber side vents -Toyo R888 tires July 2015 -DBA 4000 rotors/new pads July 2015 It has a clean title (in hand) and clean Carfax. I am the second owner. The first owner was a pediatrician in Oregon I believe. The blower motor for the AC/Heater does not work some days. One of the LEDs in the left tailight is out. The headliner started falling, so I removed it. The check engine light is on with a P0420 code due to the headers. The car does have a catalytic converter. The exhaust is just the right volume with nice pops on the deaccel. The original wing, side vents, and splitter will be included. Also included are service records, manual, toolkit, 1 key, 2 fobs.

Aston Martin and Lotus each issue recalls

Sun, 14 Oct 2012

A pair of head-turning high performance cars are catching some attention off a different kind, in the form of safety recalls. Aston Martin and Lotus have issued recalls for the V12 Vantage Coupe and Evora, respectively.
Aston Martin's affects 169 examples of the 2009-2012 V12 Vantage Coupe. It concerns the tire-pressure monitoring system, and is less a malfunction than it is a compliance issue. The TPMS does not alert the driver until the front tire is more than 25 percent below the recommended cold tire pressure. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 138 states that the alarm must sound when tire pressure is "equal to or less than either the pressure 25 percent below" the recommended cold inflation pressure. To address the issue, Aston Martin will notify owners and reprogram the software, free of charge.
As for Lotus, 80 supercharged Evoras have been recalled, all built between February and September, 2011. The problem involves an engine-mounted oil feed pipe, which could rupture, causing loss of engine oil or a possible fire if the oil sprays onto a hot engine.

Lotus to receive $16M government grant

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Troubled British automaker Lotus is getting a second infusion of cash following a 100-million-pound ($161.5-million) investment by its parent company DRB-Hicom that was made in August. The substantially smaller investment, a mere 10 million pounds ($16.2 million), comes from the British government's Regional Growth Fund.
The fund, which is part of a 3-billion-pound ($4.8-billion) fund to spur economic growth in the UK, will allow Lotus to invest even further in research and development as it seeks to reinvent its lineup of lightweight sports cars. The fund will also allow the UK-based outfit to provide further training for its new crop of employees.
"This grant is part of a wider strategy for Lotus created to ensure we thrive and grow. We are responding to increased global demand for our cars and engineering consultancy services and this grant will help to position Lotus as the forefront of global automotive innovation," said Aslam Farikullah (shown above with UK Business Secretary Vince Cable MP), the chief operating officer at Lotus.

Lotus F1 apologizes for tweeting support for LGBT Olympians

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

The Lotus Formula One Team is apologizing after its official Twitter account posted this image of two men kissing in connection to the opening of the Winter Olympics on Friday, February 7. It claims that the original tweet was "unauthorized."
The tweet, which Lotus deleted later that day, can be viewed to the right and was promptly replaced an apology that said, "We would like to sincerely apologise for an unauthorized message posted on our Twitter account today & will ensure this cannot happen again." Responses to the kerfuffle on its Twitter page have mostly focused on confusion as to what the original tweet was and why it was removed.
While the Sochi Olympics have been controversial among LBGT groups because of Russia's laws banning so-called "gay propaganda," the country has a growing importance in F1. In fact, the first Russian Grand Prix is scheduled to run later this season on a circuit around the Sochi Olympic Park. Genii Capital, the team's owner, has business interests in Russia, and according to the BBC, the Lotus F1 team is working on a deal to with Russian mobile phone company Yotaphone to sell it 10 percent of the team.
