Year:1997 Mileage:4053
Location:

Nashua, New Hampshire, United States

Nashua, New Hampshire, United States

1997 Caterham 7 Classic. This is a live axle, rear drum brake car. Front fenders are clamshells.
The interior is the standard Bench seat (BLK). Included in the spare parts that come with the car are two carbon fibre lowback bucket seats with the mounting hardware.

This is a two owner car.. the previous owner replaced the Caterham standard engine/transmission (1600 Ford Super Sprint with twin webers and Ford gearbox) after a few thousand miles. The original engine/transmission is included in the sale along with the exhaust headers and exhaust.

The replacement engine is a 2001 Raceline Zetec with factory modifications...

32mm hydraulic cam follower kit
Pocket pistons to suit high lift cam
Raceline 220 performance camshafts
Upgraded valve spring set ...titanium retainers
Balanced pistons and connecting rods (heavy bolt set)
Lightened and balanced flywheel
Gas flow head inlet/exhaust...matched to manifold and skimmed to 11:1
Raceline water rail and wet sump
I do have a signed letter from Raceline for provenance on the engine

This has a Caterham 4-1 Stainless steel headers finished with a repackable round  mk2 Dyno side exit exhaust
The fuel injection system is a Jenvey throttle body set with a Pipercross filter set.
Injectors are 440. Included in the sale are a set of 330 and 220...both set cleaned and tested
The original radiator was replaced with an aluminium performance radiator with electric fan. Original radiator included.
The original fuel tank was replaced with a similar sized tank that houses the fuel pump. (original tank included)
Engine management system is an Emerald K6 system installed in 2012.

Engine was removed from the car (KTR Racing) in 2012. Engine at this point was checked/sensor changed for the new management system and mapping done while on a dyno (196 BHP)
At this point the rear axle was removed...dismantled...inspected and rebuilt with new seals/gaskets.
New clutch plate installed. Gearbox cover plate was modified to enable oil change/inspection easier
GAZ shocks with adjustable platforms were installed all round in 2013

The current milage on the speedo is 4053 and on the title I have is 6452 I do not know where this discrepancy occurred since my state inspection records support the lower reading.....However at this time the SPEEDO has STOPPED working.... was working when car was put into storage for the winter.

I do have some other small parts that come with the car......covers/hood/side curtains, 5 good but old tires, some other small parts
Wind defenders are installed
So why am I selling the car........getting fat and old...and I don't use it as it should be used.....I did ...but not now!

James Bond Lotus Esprit submarine car headed to auction [w/video]

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

We've covered many cars from the movies and TV that have made their way to auction (the original Batmobile, good old General Lee and even Bond's iconic Aston Martin DB5), but this one ranks up there among the rarest and coolest. RM Auctions has just announced that the Lotus Esprit submarine car used in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me has been added to the docket for its upcoming auction in London, September 8-9.
Of course, there are dozens of Bond cars floating around out there in collections, but none as unique as this Lotus, which ended a chase scene in the movie by taking a long walk off a short pier and transforming itself into a submersible. Since CGI was a meaningless collection of letters back then, the producers of the film actually built a fully functional Lotus Esprit submarine for the shoot. They hired Perry Oceangraphic in Florida to turn one of their six Esprit body shells into a fully functioning submarine, and former US Navy Seal Don Griffin was tapped for piloting duties. RM Auctions claims the Esprit submarine cost over $100,000 to build at the time, which is about $400,000 in today's dollars.
The submarine car comes with a incredible story, too. After filming in the '70s, it was shipped to Long Island, NY where it was kept in a storage unit that was paid in advance for ten years. When the storage contract ended in 1989 and no one claimed the contents, they were sold off in a blind auction to an area couple who had no idea what they were getting. The car has been shown occasionally in the years since, but its value remained purely speculative, until now. To date, the most valuable Bond car we know of is the original Aston Martin DB5 used in Goldfinger and Thunderball that sold for $4.6 million in 2010, but when the gavel falls at RM Auctions' London sale in September, we'll find out if the car nicknamed "Wet Nellie" on set can beat it.

Forza Horizon announces January Recaro Car Pack with LFA N"urburgring Edition

Wed, 26 Dec 2012

Another month, another car pack for Forza Horizon. This time it's the Recaro Car Pack featuring a motley gang of cars and trucks: the 1983 GMC Vandura G-1500, 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R, 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV, 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR, 2012 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition and 2012 Lotus Exige S.
It'll be up for download on Xbox Live on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 for 400 MS Points. As usual, if you have the Forza Horizon Season Pass you can get them all free, and Season Pass holders will also get a bonus car that's not pictured: the 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster.
The Pagani is everything opposite to that Vandura, but while you might not ever win anything with the van, you can always use the back of it as a place to give out free hugs. Check out the video and press release below for more details.

Lotus Evora S IPS automatic transmission option arrives in October [w/video]

Sat, 28 Jul 2012

The Lotus Evora S IPS that the company showed drifting all around its test track earlier this year will be available in October, says Car and Driver. The kinder, gentler Lotus is fitted with the six-speed Intelligent Precision Shift transmission, an Aisin unit swiped from the Toyota Camry and retuned with Lotus electronics and actuators.
There are two 'regular' modes and two 'sport' modes on the IPS gearbox. The former include a traditional hands-off automatic and an auto mode with shifts handled by wheel-mounted paddles. The latter are a sport automatic setting that sharpens the car's responses and a manual sport mode for total driver control. The Evora S IPS hits showrooms in October. For now, you can take a look at Lotus' test driver giving it the beans in the video below.
