This 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS is an excellent sports car. Being the third generation of the eclipse the suspension setup was adjusted to provide a softer and more compliant ride quality. And it is designed with more horse power and a sleeker body. The body style, convertible top and red, black, and beige colors go together very nicely to make this a very attractive vehicle. The convertible top is great on sunny days and can be used as easily with the press of a button. Driving in this car is not only fun, but very efficient. Getting nearly 30 miles to the gallon, makes this car very economical (especially with gas prices these days).
The car is in very good condition. Just installed a brand new convertible top and had a tune up. Low profile tires in good condition, as they were replaced about a year ago. Custom chrome rims shine like new. Paint is good, however the clear coat is chipping off in an area on front hood, and there are a few scratches. There is a small dent on front right fender above the wheel. The carpets are clean, along with the rest of the interior. There are a couple stains on the back seat and a couple small cigarette burns on the front driver seat and floor (the previous owner smoked). These are the only impurities the car has to be brutally honest. There is no rusting or major damage to the car, the car is in great shape and runs well.
I am the second owner of the vehicle. I purchased the car for $9,500 about six and a half years ago from a woman in Sparks, NV. She was selling the car because she became pregnant with her first child and wanted to get more of a family vehicle. This is the very same reason I am selling the car now. I am pregnant now with my second child (7months - yeah!!). My son was a little over two years old when I got the car. I remember how difficult it was to load and unload him, (although it didn't take too long before he was climbing up himself and all I had to do was buckle him), so I too now want to get a more family vehicle. Also my family and I are moving across country very soon, so we are eager to sell the car. If you have any questions you may contact me at 775-351-8385.

Former BMW M boss and Maserati CEO killed in freak motorcycle accident
Mon, 19 Aug 2013It's a tragic coincidence that on the same weekend the BMW M4 Coupe Concept was introduced in Monterey, one of the men most integral to BMW's M and Motorsports divisions, Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, was killed in England. Kalbfell, a vintage motorcycle enthusiast, was set to compete in the Lansdowne Classic Series at Brands Hatch and had an accident during a practice session. After going wide at Druids Corner and falling, he was hit by a competitor following close behind and died of his injuries after being transported to hospital.
Kalbfell, an engineer, began his career at BMW in 1977 in the communications department; a decade later he was chairman of BMW M GmbH, overseeing development of some of the cars responsible for the myth of M. In 1994 he was named chairman of BMW Motorsport, and his cap full of feathers includes getting the BMW V12 into the McLaren F1, getting the BMW V8 into two Morgan cars, along with developing BMW's Formula One engine and return to the sport. Not incidentally, he also assumed leadership of Project Rolls-Royce after BMW bought the British marque in 1998, which means he oversaw the Goodwood factory upfit and the creation of the Phantom.
He left Rolls-Royce for a brief stint at Fiat, heading Alfa Romeo and Maserati, then went into consulting for clients like Lotus and Paragon, who built the Artega GT. As Autocar notes, Kalbfell "had an abiding sense that customers needed to be attracted to cars by their aura and reputation, not just their engineering." He will be missed.
Maserati's small two-seater could arrive by 2016
Mon, 13 May 2013As a following act to the redesigned Quattroporte and the recently unveiled 2014 Maserati Ghibli, Maserati will be releasing a slew of new products in the coming years, including the next-generation GranTurismo, the all-new Levante SUV and a new 911-fighting coupe - possibly called Gran Sport. While all of this information was detailed last year in a leaked product plan document, there were no dates associated with any of the new products. Auto Express is now reporting that the new GranTurismo will be out in 2015 and the new smaller coupe is expected out in 2016.
According to the report, the new coupe will be smaller and sportier than the GranTurismo, and it will feature a mid-engine layout with a platform that isn't shared with the Alfa Romeo 4C. This product onslaught is a part of Maserati's plan to increase sales to 50,000 units globally by 2015.
