2012 Mazda Cx-9 Awd Grand Touring, Loaded, Extra Clean!! on 2040-cars

I have for sale my nice and clean Mazda CX-9. I bought it brand new from Joe Machens in Columbia, MO. in Dec. 2011. It's an AWD Grand Touring (GT), cobber red, loaded with all the options except the NAV. It has heated sand leather seats with memory, Bose premium sound system, Bluetooth, Sirius radio, rear camera, power tailgate, sunroof, roof rails, Blind spot monitoring, HID headlights, 20" premium wheels, mirror integrated turn signals, and fog lights.
The vehicle was purchased with a long term ownership in my mind, so I decided to buy the interior/exterior protection package from the dealer, which included undercoating and wheel locks as part of the deal.
Since I bought the car, I added a few subtle mods/accessories which includes:
- 3M clear bra on the hood, fenders, side mirrors, door edges and handle pockets, and door sills.
- Mazda splash guards.
- Front windows were tinted ~35% to match the rears.
- Added Mazda iPod/iPhone interface.
- Mazda stainless steel rear bumper guard.
- PIAA ion yellow fog light bulbs.
- Replaced front parking and rear license plate bulbs with white LEDs.
- Hidden Hitch class III hitch and Mazda OEM trailer harness.
- WeatherTech digital fit front mats, and trunk liner.
- Interior lighting has been upgraded to white LEDs.
- Upgraded front dash speakers.

I'm really picky when it comes to my cars, so I did my best to keep this car looking and performing like a new car for as long as I have it, by keeping it maintained, and hand washed/waxed regularly. Synthetic oil was replaced every 5000 miles, along with a tire rotation. Engine and cabin air filter were replaced at 15k miles.
The car still smells, looks, and performs like a brand new car, the interior looks exactly as it was when it rolled off the dealer's lot 2 years ago, the body still has the original paint with minor stone chips on the front end, otherwise, the paint is perfect.
I bought the car with a lien title, which I payed off about a month ago, so I have a clear title on hand. I could travel anywhere from Rolla to St. Louis to meet the buyer, otherwise the buyer is responsible for the transportation.
The car is accident free and in MINT condition, I encourage you to run a Carfax to insure the car has a clean history, and if any is found, I'd be happy to reimburse you for 200% of the Carfax cost.

I reserve the right to end the listing anytime, as it's been for sale locally also.
Thanks for looking.

Mazda's awesome Hiroshima museum now navigable by Google Maps

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Visiting an auto museum is one of the best ways we know to connect with car culture and to commune with the past and bone up on one's knowledge. Most of us have a decent museum within a few hours drive of where we live, but that doesn't mean it's easy to see the world's great collections - factors like cost, time and mobility can get in the way. Videos are great, but they don't allow us to browse at our own pace or choose what we'd like to focus on. The folks behind Google Maps have a solution - the virtual museum tour, as seen here at Mazda's fantastic museum in Hiroshima, Japan.
The Google Maps tour allows viewers to take a walk through the main exhibition area of the museum, and you can focus on specific classic cars from Mazda, or check out displays featuring new technologies like Skyactiv. To take a quick spin through the museum - or a leisurely stroll at your own pace - scroll down to start your own virtual tour.

Fiat reconsidering Mazda-based Alfa Romeo roadster? [w/poll]

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Alfa giveth and Alfa taketh away. With apologies to Job (he has gone through a lot, after all), that's how things are looking at the Italian automaker - whether it's the promise of new products or its impending return to the North American market. But it's especially true when it comes to new roadsters.
While Alfa Romeo is expected to unveil the 4C Spider at the Geneva Motor Show this week, reports are now suggesting that its other roadster project is being called into question. That project is a joint venture between Fiat and Mazda, which was set to produce a version of its next MX-5 Miata as an Alfa Romeo, and was even changing the design to accommodate Alfa's requirements.
Now it appears, however, that the whole project in doubt. The problem seems to stem from Sergio Marchionne's pronouncements that, as long as he's in charge, there won't be an Alfa Romeo built outside of Italy.

Mazda launches 25th Anniversary Miata pre-order site, priced from $32,205

Fri, 02 May 2014

Mazda made a big celebration of the MX-5 Miata at the 2014 New York Auto Show with a bunch of classic models on display. It capped off the model's 25th birthday with the announcement of the 2015 MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition and showed off the much-anticipated, next-generation version's chassis.
While we are still at least year away from the new Miata hitting the road, the anniversary edition is on its way and is limited to just 100 copies for the United States. The special cars start at $32,205, compared to $23,970 for the 2015 softtop model and $28,665 for the 2015 retractable hardtop version. There is an additional $795 destination charge for all of them.
To make sure everyone gets a chance to own the ceremonial convertible, Mazda has a countdown on its website until 10:25 AM PDT, May 20, 2014. When the day comes, 250 people can to register for the car, and the first 100 to be verified as buyers get the rare Miata. Those with multiple entries will be disqualified.
