i bought this car about 10 months ago. i have been very pleased with it, but i need a car with a backseat. i have a new grandaughter and this car and my truck lack a back seat. one must go. i bought this car from a 63 year old lady who always parked it at the back of the lot to avoid scratches. i have done the same. everything on the car works as it should. air conditioning is cold all the power options work. the body looks great with only a very few minor flaws. there are 3 things about this car that i feel are less than perfect. in cold weather the transmission becomes notchy. i have read this is common with the mazda 6 speeds and it has never been a bother to me. There is also a pin head sized hole in the top. otherwise it is in nice shape. no leaks or tears. The front tires rub slightly if the wheelsa are turned all the way. Again this has never been a bother to me. there is a fourth thing concerning the driver's side latch. It does not lock. There is a fix for this posted on utube, buy the latch stays closed held by the sunvisor so i have never bothered to fix or replace it. The car runs and drivers great and handles like a dream. The engine has always had mobile one and the car has been kept under a carport or in a garage. It looks absolutely beautiful. i would be glad to help if you desire an inspection and also in shipping, if you so desire. any other questions call me at 502 608 2251.

Tow truck driver hilariously bad at righting a flipped Mazda

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

Can rolling your car get any worse? The correct answer is yes, as this poor soul found out when he rolled his Mazda3 onto its side. Calling a tow truck might be a logical, post-rollover move, but in this case, it kind of made the situation worse.
We don't want to give away just what happened, so you'll need to scroll down and watch the video. A fair warning, though, it does contain a moment of colorful language towards the end, so watching it at work, with the volume up, might not be wise. Have a look below for the full video.

NHTSA urges owners of recalled Takata airbag vehicles to take immediate action

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Department of Transportation are taking the unusual step of issuing a followup press release urging owners of certain recalled vehicles "to act immediately" to fix their cars and trucks. The problem in question concerns the repair campaigns for rupturing Takata airbag inflators issued in June and covers a long list of models from Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Infiniti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac.
While NHSTA doesn't specifically say why the recall is vital in the new release, Toyota's own explanation in its newly announced renotification campaign earlier today sheds some new light on the topic. According to the Japanese automaker, in testing, Takata found a possible link between the rupturing airbag inflators and high humidity. NHTSA is advocating that all owners pursue repairs immediately if they haven't already done so already. This is especially crucial for those drivers especially in Florida, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Virgin Islands and Hawaii because of the humid conditions there.
We don't need to tell you how dangerous an inadvertent airbag deployment could be - even in a stationary vehicle - but adding to the Takata issue is fears that the deployment could lead to shrapnel being sprayed into the cabin.

Mazda CX-5 in auto-brake accident on Japanese test drive

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

As we slowly march towards a world where our cars will drive for us, there will be mishaps. Systems will act up, not behave has intended or we'll simply forget to turn them on. We all remember when Volvo tested the S60's City Safety system. Now Mazda has had an issue of its own.
During a test of a Mazda CX-5's Smart City Brake Support on a dealership lot in Japan, a prospective customer and a dealership employee were injured when they hit a urethane barrier used for testing the system. According to Bloomberg, which spoke with the Saitama Prefectural Police, the impact with the barrier left the customer with an injured neck while the dealership employee suffered a fractured arm. Considering the injuries, we imagine this wasn't a small barrier.
"For any safety function, it's impossible to be 100-percent free of accidents. These technical functions aren't always the easiest to understand," IHS Automotive auto parts analyst, Hiroshi Ataka told Bloomberg.
