Black over black leather, this 2009 Mazda Mazdaspeed3 is loaded with every option except GPS.  Leather seats, xenon headlights, power windows, locks, mirrors, and cruise control. Bose 6 CD stereo. Tinted windows, 18x7.5 Black rims with Bridgestone RE760 tires.  Has just a few minor mods: Corksport Full intake, SURE shifter plate, H&R lowering springs, and a Hypertech Tuner.  I have also done an EGR delete, as theses cars tend to get oil in the intake from the EGR system.

This car is sooooo much fun, I am really sad I have to sell it.  I am moving overseas and I can't take it with me.  Car has never been in an accident, no racing, well maintained, and adult driven.  I am a school teacher, not a crazy maniac kid.  This has been my hobby and baby and I will miss it.  You will absolutely love this car.  Comfortable, fast, good looking, good gas mileage, and tons of fun.

FULL DISCLOSURE:  I will attempt to disclose everything I can about this car here, however the car is sold as-is with no warranty.

Check Engine Light- The CEL is on for 2 reasons. No Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors.  The new rims don't have them. And also because of the EGR delete.  These in no way effect the performance of the car.
Lowered: The right rear spring is missing the rubber seat and makes a small "clunking" noise.  Again, not a performance issue. Part is $20.

Tint isn't perfect.

Has minor scuffs and scratches as is typical of a 4 year old car.  Nothing particular, but they are there.

Occasionally the car is too fun.

2015 Mazda2 spotted on the road

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

When Mazda unveiled the Hazumi Concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, our excitement for the next Mazda2 increased considerably. The Hazumi looks to retain much of the driving character that makes the current 2 one of the very best cars in its segment while infusing it with more aggressive styling. Of course, when the 2 arrives, it won't look exactly like the Hazumi. That's why these spy photos are so important.
This is our very first look at the next-generation 2, and although the Hazumi influence might be difficult to discern, thanks to the swirly camo, it's still there. The grille shape and the headlights are very similar in shape to the items shown on the concept, while the camouflage disguises the shape of the greenhouse, which looks somewhat like the Hazumi.
What we can't see, though, is under the hood. That's where our spies come in, reporting that a pair of 1.5-liter SkyActiv engines will see action in the tossable 2. The former, which we'll almost certainly see in the US, is a gas-powered mill found in the Euro-spec Mazda3. In the larger 3, it produces 99 horsepower and 111 pound-feet of torque, which is broadly similar to what the current 2's 1.5-liter pumps out. The other engine, a 1.5-liter SkyActiv diesel, probably won't be making the trip, although we'll continue to hope.

The Cure For The Common Corolla
I hate the Toyota Corolla. I'm not talking about the new 2014 model; I can't yet judge a car I haven't driven. I'm referring to the current, old-as-dirt sedan. As an appliance, I get why people buy it, but it represents everything that I, as a car enthusiast, dislike. I don't like looking at it, I don't like sitting in it, and I really don't like driving it. There is absolutely no amount of emotion dialed into any part of the Corolla experience and every other vehicle in the segment is a far better choice. But still, somehow, Toyota sells 'em like hotcakes.
Thankfully, there are a lot of people who agree with me. And for folks like us, companies like Mazda exist. This small Japanese automaker places emotion and driver involvement as its top priorities when creating new products, and mostly - especially in recent years - the end results have been great. The new CX-5 crossover is a doll, to say nothing of the rakish and lovely new Mazda6 that launched earlier this year. And let's not forget the Miata...

Mazda Hazumi Concept previews next Mazda2 in Geneva [w/videos]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

The official photos of Mazda's Hazumi concept leaked out yesterday, but we have finally gotten to see it in real life at the Geneva Motor Show. Our view is that its Kodo lines looks as good on the diminutive car's sheet metal as they did in photos.
The Hazumi was designed to appear to be bursting with energy, and it seems to deliver. While Mazda refuses to actually say that this is the concept for the next Mazda2, it makes it clear that the little hatchback is "foreshadowing Mazda's next-generation subcompact car." We can all read between the lines.
Hazumi also introduces the new Skyactiv-D 1.5-liter diesel engine but details about it are scant at the moment. The specs for the engine are still unannounced, but the company promises that it is both very efficient and has lots of torque for its size. Mazda is also promising that its Mazda Connect infotainment system will be available in the car too. Scroll down for the brief press release a brace of videos that celebrate the tiny concept's arrival.
