This is a 2011 Mazda 3i with a 5 Speed transmission. I have not driven a stick shift in some years and this is so easy and rather fun to drive. It is in like new condition as you can see.  It is quick with plenty of pick-up and drives smoothly and quietly.  It starts, runs, shifts, and stops as new and all features and options are working properly. It has just 14,185 miles on it with option such a CD player, Steering Wheel Controls, Power Locks, Power Windows, Aux input jacks, AC, multiple Airbags with head curtains and much more.

This Mazda 3i comes with a rebuilt title due to an accident by the owner. The trunk lid and rear bumper were replaced as it was in a small rear accident only. Since my goal for these cars is to raise scholarship monies for the non-profit I mention below, I get to work with a donor who makes sure the cars had minimal damage and are properly repaired. The car has since been inspected by the Maryland State Police and all features and operation are as new. This is truly a wonderful deal that helps support wonderful cause.

This would be great for someone looking to save on a new car purchase and who would like the fun of a 5 speed. This has a low reserve and I added the buy it now feature in case you were not able to wait for the auction to end. It will sell to the winning bidder. If the car is not as described when you pick it up you will not be required to purchase. With the sale I will be donating 5% of the proceeds to a local non-profit I help found.  ciscocenter(.org) Payment can be by certified check that has cleared, cash or wired funds. Buyer is responsible for any shipping. I am 15 minutes from BWI airport and I can assist with meeting. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Next-gen Mazda2 designed for 'predominantly feminine' appeal

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

We can't ever think of a time we've heard anyone accuse the current Mazda2 of being too edgy, which makes reports of a softer design for the next-gen model a little surprising. Autocar reports that when the new 2 debuts next fall, it will have a "softer, more feminine appeal" than the current design.
This description lends a little more credibility to the Japanese magazine image we saw of the car back in July. Aside from Mazda's Kodo-inspired signature face, that picture did reveal softer lines, especially along the side of the car. This softened styling is to appeal to the car's target market, which Mazda's European design chief is reported to have called a "predominantly feminine customer base." Last we heard, though, Mazda might keep the next 2 out of the US due to slow sales.
The 2015 Mazda2 will reportedly ride on a shortened version of the platform used for the CX-5, but Autocar mentions that its platform could also be the basis of a new subcompact crossover - possibly to go up against vehicles like the Buick Encore and the upcoming Honda Fit-based crossover called the Vezel.

Mazda books first yearly profit in half-decade, NA still a drag

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

Automotive News reports Mazda has posted its first annual profit in five years. The company made $364.3 million in the last fiscal year, following a $1.14 billion loss the year prior. Operating profit also jumped up by $91.3 million to $572.8 million, thanks in part to a revenue increase of 8 percent to $23.42 billion.
But the news isn't all rays of sunshine. North America continues to be a problem for Mazda where the automaker posted yet another loss. The manufacturer lost $519.1 million last year, up from $427.8 million the year prior. While the launch of the CX-5 helped see US sales increase by 2 percent to 273,000 vehicles, the region as a whole bought up 372,000 units. Mazda had predicted closer to 380,000 units.
Even so, Mazda says it should have North America back in the black by next year, with the company forecasting a sales increase of 11 percent to 415,000 units in the region. That's thanks in part to a boost from the redesigned Mazda6 sedan.

Mazda struggles to meet demand on rising sales

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

For Mazda there's good and not-so-good news on the heels of strong US sales in 2012: demand is high - especially for the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5 - but supply is low, TheDetroitBureau.com reports. That's partly because all Mazda production happens in Japan, since it ended its alliance with Ford and pulled out of a joint venture with the blue oval building cars in suburban Detroit last year.
In 2012, Mazda sales here jumped 26.4 percent, but 2013 sales through August have just been keeping pace with the overall US auto industry, increasing at a rate of 6.8 percent. Mazda North American Operations director of marketing and communications Jeremy Barnes says that sales have slowed because the company is facing challenges delivering products here.
