For Sale is my 1966 Mercedes 250S with 109k miles.

The issues:
Driver side window motor is defective
Rear left bulb is out
There's a dent in the rear right quarter panel (i can take a picture and send it to you if there's interest)
There's a speaker cover missing in the front left (driver side) footwell
Starter solenoid gets stuck sometimes when cold, but otherwise starts right up

The good:
Clean, Rust free SoCal body
Registered under my name with a clean title and insured.
It's a daily driver, the car is used very often and looks presentable
I know the main components have been rebuilt so it feels pretty safe and reliable to own it

Reason for selling.. can't justify keeping it any longer, i have other cars and a new member in my family that needs more attention.

Price is Firm. (This is what my wife wants for it.)
I don't want to sell it at all, but if someone gives me my asking price, i'll have to let it go.

About
Comes with a CLEAN California Title and looks like the car has always been locally in california.

These have been Rebuilt this year:
Engine, Both Carburetors, Steering Box, Steering Pump, Rear Differential, Rear axle suspension components. Reconditioned fuel tank and replaced fuel lines. New spark plugs.

This is one of the last hand built Mercedes cars. Not a restored car, but one that's been taken good care of.
The car was made in 1966 but looks and drives great. I believe i'm the third owner and purchased it from a Benz enthusiast that worked on it to bring it to a driving condition for about 4 years. He had this and a second one which he used for parts. So most of the wearable components have been replaced with better ones. The car is very nice to drive and behaves pretty good compared to modern cars. Drives fine on the freeway and never saw it overheat in city commuting. The two tone exterior, (black with silver roof) makes this Mercedes look exceptionally presentable.

Exterior
Firstly, there's a dent on the rear right quarter panel that i recently managed to put by dropping the bike in my garage.. the dent is fresh, but there's also a little surface rust under the molding, not related to the dent.
When describing the exterior of the car, it is really a matter of standards and expectations.~A‚^A
The car appears very presentable. Looks like it was repainted at some point, but paint looks relatively good, with a few imperfections. This is not a concours car, but looks very good vor a daily driver. Black color looks pretty good and shiny and the Silver roof looks like new. All glasses are intact and function as they should. It doesn't show any signs of accidents or damages (except the dent in the quarter panel). All lights and chrome pieces are in decent shape.

Interior
Back interior with wood and chrome makes it for one of the most desirable color combinations.
The interior was overhauled. Installed new front and back seats. New Carpet. Detailed Chrome and Wood (not refurbished). Headliner seems in pretty good condition without any rips or marks
This is where you'll definitely feel like driving a nice mercedes. The soft seats, new leather and carpet, give this car the new mercedes smell. You definitely don't feel like driving a vintage car. Comes with Air Conditioning, Power Windows (driver side is defective), Power Locks, Remote Alarm System~A‚^A and the Becker radio that i didn't have time to wire to the car
There are also 2 speakers in the back deck.
All lights, buttons, power options work, except the driver side window motor and the rear right parking light, the bulb is probably out
Clock is dead, but i may include an extra one. The gear lever indicator is not working

Engine and Transmission
This engine was recently rebuilt. I believe i have about 2000 miles since rebuild.
Engine doesn't smoke, there are no noises or strange smells. It's a 2.5 Liter, 6 cylinder with Dual Carburetors that were recently rebuilt and adjusted too. I had the compression rechecked last week and it all showed great results. Not sure what else there is to say about it. It's dry, starts on cold or warm. And it doesn't give me troubles.
Transmission is a 4 speed Automatic with column mounted shifter. Shifts great, although it has that "old school" shifting. These transmission didn't come with a torque converter so shifting feels different from a traditional modern transmission. It has a small leak, but it may be due for an oil change and that's when you'd change the gasket too. Fluid level is OK and shifts through all gears.

Suspension and Undercarriage
Undercarriage is in great shape. I had the car on the lift recently and saw no rust spots anywhere under the car. It doesn't look damaged either. Front suspension hasn't been repaired in a while but i have no issues with it at the moment. Steering feels good and no strange noises when going over rough road. Rear suspension has just been replaced. It has new bushings and seals in the differential. There's some traces of old leaks on the axle, but feels great now. The steering box and pump were both rebuilt just a week ago.
Needs Alignement
Fresh White wall Tires have been installed just recently on the original '66 Rims.

Extras
There are a few options that this car has.
Air Conditioning that has been rebuilt and recharged recently
Power Locks that are connected to an aftermarket remote alarm, you can also remotelyopen the trunk from the key fob
Power Windows go up ad down as they should.

i also have a video with the car of you're interested

Maybach and Aston Martin alliance talks fall apart

Tue, 27 Sep 2011

If you have, like us, been salivating at the notion of a new generation of Maybach and Lagonda ultra-luxury crafts built by Aston Martin, we've got some bad news: According to reports emanating from Germany, talks between AML and Daimler have broken down.
The proposal under negotiation would have seen Daimler outsourcing production of the next family of Maybach models to Aston Martin, which in return would benefit from Mercedes-Benz platforms and engines - not only for its svelte GTs, but also for its own future Lagonda line of limousines and luxury SUVs. That, and a boatload of money - or at least that's what AML was reportedly seeking, an issue that served as the stumbling block over which the deal reportedly collapsed.
That's not to say the two parties couldn't still reach some sort of a compromise, but short of that, Daimler may opt to either shut down Maybach altogether, find another partner, or take another stab at building new models internally.

Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG coming to the New York Auto Show

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

Mercedes-Benz showed off the CLA45 AMG at a private event on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, but was determined not to let it be photographed. We can talk about it, though - after all, a teaser image was released to promote the new Sony game Drive Club. The CLA45 AMG will use the same powertrain as the A45 AMG, which means a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 360 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. And that means a small four-door coupe sedan with the highest horsepower-per-liter in the segment. It will shift through the same seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, should also run out of speed at 155 miles per hour and have that three-stage stability control system.
As with its hatch sibling, the CLA is already so aggressive on the outside - and the parent company so anxious not to demolish the sedan's 0.22 coefficient of drag - that not much has been done to the cranked-up CLA. Even the rather thin tires on the standard only get a little less thin on the hotter variant. Inside will be the telltale AMG signs, with lots of red detailing and that flat-bottomed wheel among the giveaways. We'll know more later this month when the wraps come off at the New York International Auto Show.

Mercedes Concept GLA45 AMG is ready to run

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

This is the Mercedes-Benz Concept GLA45 AMG, and what we mean by that is, "This is the Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG." Mercedes has just unveiled the liveried 'concept' at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, giving potential customers a very good look at the newest lunatic in the AMG asylum - a 355-horsepower, 332-pound-foot crossover that uses the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in the CLA45 AMG and Europe's A45 AMG.
Joined with a seven-speed, AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission and an AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, Mercedes promises a sub-five-second run to 60 miles per hour. That's not just quick for a crossover, that's quick full stop.
That sleek, lifted body has also been tweaked by the minds at AMG's Affalterbach facility. A new rear spoiler, side sills and front clip are the primary aerodynamic tweaks. Aesthetically, AMG has fitted the requisite "Turbo" badges, gloss-black accents (including exhaust tips and roof rails) and a set of 21-inch, AMG-spec alloy wheels to round out the overall package. Based on the spy shots we've seen, expect slightly toned down aerodynamics when the GLA45 AMG arrives in showrooms.
