Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer this Barn Fresh, Original,
and Unrestored 1973 Mercedes Benz W114 280 Sedan. We were Lucky
enough to acquire this Low Mileage Survivor from the long term owner along with a few other choice Beauties. Looking
at the back of the Pa. inspection sticker, they had it serviced after the 2001 driving
season, put it in the barn(actually it was a pole building that stored
tractors and lawn equipment, along with three other cars), and covered
it up like usual. Well, they must have gotten busy, and time just flew
by!! Fast forward to a few months ago, and we purchased the cars because
they "needed the room".
This Gorgeous "Reed Green" 280 is totally original, and an unrestored survivor. As you will notice in the many photos below, there has been some paintwork done at sometime way in the past, probably to repair some minor rust that accumulated over the first 30 years of daily usage. There is some color variation present, and some minor bubbling on the lower edges. The floors and rockers seem to be very solid, and should be fine as is for an occassional driver. Remember, It's been this way since 2001!!! The chrome trim, and bumpers are all very very nice, with no damage or pitting anywhere, and I don't see any signs of accident damage. The manual sliding sunroof is a wonderful feature and opens with ease!
The Parchment MB Tex interior is also totally original. We did a quick wipedown to remove the last 12 years of dust, and It now looks fantastic!!! No rips or tears, and the carpets are also in great shape! All accessories
are functioning normally including the original Becker AM FM sound system, and the 4 manual
windows. Climate control is working, but A/C is not
ice cold. The compressor engages, and could probably use a shot of freon. We will leave this to the new owner, as to choose between original R12, or conversion to R134a. Both plastic door pockets have broken screw mounting holes, and are presently in the trunk, along with the drivers headrest that just fell off in my hands. Both items should be an easy repair. I think there is a piece or 2 missing for re-assembly.
This
was an easy one to "Wake Up" after it's 12 year slumber. We checked the
fluid levels, installed a fresh Interstate battery, poured a bit of gas
in the carb, and it fired right up. We did need to clean and lubricate the throttle linkage. We also dropped the fuel tank, and cleaned/flushed it. The fuel hoses have been replaced, along with the mechanical fuel pump. The engine now purrs like a kitten. There is a slight stumble on take off, but is getting better every time we drive it. We also replaced all of the hydraulic brake hoses, and flushed the braking system. It now stops the way that it should, with no pulling or vibrations. Last but not least, we had 4 brand new radial whitewall tires installed.....This car now runs and drives fantastic.....nice and smooth. I have driven it personally about 50 miles or so, with no
noted issues. The more that I drive it, the better it runs!! We did a fresh oil change, just
because it had been several years standing, and a VERY time consuming
detail on the exterior to bring the Reed Green paint back to it's former
Glory.
Unrestored
examples like this one are unheard of! Most have over 200 Thousand
miles by now, and are either worn out, and extremely ratty, or are made
over rust buckets!! Values are Rapidly rising, and this is sure to be a
sound investment with a LOT of fun attached!! Remember....they are
Original ONLY ONCE!!!!
Please
keep in mind that this is a FORTY year old unrestored, original
car. It is not perfect, or a restored trailer queen. There are a few
blemishes, nicks etc. here and there. Nothing major, but it is NOT
perfect!!! We have a clean Pennsylvania title in the dealership's name.

It's only been a week and a half since Mercedes-Benz revealed the new C-Class, and it'll likely be a while yet before the replacement for the C63 AMG comes along. But if you want to see a preview of what it'll look like, look no further than the AMG aero kit that has just surfaced.
Expected to debut on the new C-Class at the fast-approaching Detroit Auto Show, the AMG Line Exterior Pack adds a new bumpers front and rear, side skirts, dual exhaust tips, mesh grille, aluminum window frames and - most importantly - 18-inch alloys packing upgraded brakes and fitted to a lowered sport suspension. All of which will help any C-Class look the part, even if the engine remains stock.

No one in their right mind has ever accused German tuners Mansory of being subtle. So, when our Geneva team wandered across the Mansory Speranza - A Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen that has been denuded of its roof and spackled inside with quilted leather and red carbon fiber - they didn't ask a lot of existential questions. Why does the Speranza exist? Because Germans are weird sometimes, that's why.
Forget for a moment that you'll have to pay Mansory hundreds of thousands of euros (we're guessing, no pricing information has been revealed) for the privilege of converting your G-Class into something that looks like a Suzuki Samurai, and prepare to be impressed by the details. The tuning house has increased the output of the Mercedes V8 to a healthy 700 horsepower and 668 pound-feet of torque. The wheels are 24-inches, and wear almost unbelievable 305-section ultra-high performance Vresdestein tires. Carbon fiber can be found nearly everywhere one looks, including making up the housing for the spare tire. Oh, and there are leather pillows for the backseats... no word on whether they're standard or optional, but we're looking in to it.

Mercedes-Benz Titan. Mercedes-Benz Frontier. Mercedes-Benz pickup truck. None of these things roll off the tongue particularly well. We'd like to think that's the reason Daimler opted to kill the idea of rebadged Titan and Frontier pickups from corporate ally Nissan. In reality, the execution before the Frankfurt Motor Show was due to more complicated issues.
Yes, Mercedes, byword for German luxury, style and quality, would have slapped a three-pointed star on a pair of Japanese pickup trucks that have failed to resonate with consumers in the world's largest truck market. That slapping of badges isn't much of an exaggeration, at least on the outside. According to the report from Road & Track, the truck's front clip would have been tweaked, but beyond that, the sheetmetal would have been unchanged. The interior would have received a more thorough going-over by the team at Mercedes, while the suspension and noise, vibration and harshness tuning would have also received significant attention.
The trucks would have ended up being sold through the light-commercial branch of Mercedes-Benz - the same folks that will happily sell you a Sprinter van - had the deal gone through. Issues arose, though, first with the engines. Mercedes wanted a wider range of powertrains to allow it to tune models for specific markets, while Nissan said it couldn't engineer the wide variety of engines that MB wanted to drop under the hood. For the smaller truck, meanwhile, MB was interested in a hybrid or plug-in variant, according to R&T, although this was also shot down by Nissan.
