Thanks for looking at my 83 Benz. This car is the 123 body which was the most popular model ever made by Mercedes and has the 5 cylinder 3-liter diesel engine with a turbocharger. I have owned it personally since 2006 and drove it almost every day. It was run extensively on biodiesel and runs well on it. I have recently purchased my first new car in many years and something has to go. Sadly it is the benz. I will try to describe it as accurately as possible and if you have questions don't hesitate to contact me. I will list the bad items first then the good.
The bad
The odometer never worked while I have owned the car so the mileage is higher than what shows. There is peeling in the clearcoat so it could be shinier.Only starts in neutral. (this may be a minor adjustment) The drivers seat has a hole in the back cushion (covered by the seat cover in the pics) Rear power windows do not quite go to the top on there own, they must be helped. Power antenna works but isn't hooked to the radio for activation. (a good radio installer could probably hook it up) Air conditioning works but leaks badly so is not charged. Cruise control doesn't work.Crack in windshield.Tear in headliner.
The good
I replaced the motor last year with a low mileage one from a wrecked car. Runs very well.Tires were purchased by me and have about 60% left on them. Has a good spare. Has a nice stereo -cd player. Comes with a set of regulators and motors for the back power windows. I have a replacement speedometer to fix the odometer issue that comes with it. I have a number of other miscellaneous. extra parts that will also go with it. When we replaced the engine we also replaced the AC compressor but it hasn't been charged up. If the price goes high enough (don't ask) I will replace the windshield The body on this car is exceptionally straight and it has minimal dings etc. Very good for a car of this vintage. I installed a new 6-year battery last week.
I'm sure I may have missed something so just ask any questions you want answered.

The Mansory Speranza proves that money can buy taste and good sense...
Tue, 05 Mar 2013...Just kidding.
No one in their right mind has ever accused German tuners Mansory of being subtle. So, when our Geneva team wandered across the Mansory Speranza - A Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen that has been denuded of its roof and spackled inside with quilted leather and red carbon fiber - they didn't ask a lot of existential questions. Why does the Speranza exist? Because Germans are weird sometimes, that's why.
Forget for a moment that you'll have to pay Mansory hundreds of thousands of euros (we're guessing, no pricing information has been revealed) for the privilege of converting your G-Class into something that looks like a Suzuki Samurai, and prepare to be impressed by the details. The tuning house has increased the output of the Mercedes V8 to a healthy 700 horsepower and 668 pound-feet of torque. The wheels are 24-inches, and wear almost unbelievable 305-section ultra-high performance Vresdestein tires. Carbon fiber can be found nearly everywhere one looks, including making up the housing for the spare tire. Oh, and there are leather pillows for the backseats... no word on whether they're standard or optional, but we're looking in to it.
2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series [w/video]
Fri, 15 Nov 2013The biggest misconception about the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is that it's simply a higher-performing version of the SLS GT - a closer look, or better yet, a few hot laps on a high-speed racing circuit, reveals that is anything but the case.
Launched in the States in mid-2011, the standard SLS GT is a 583-horsepower, all-aluminum, gull-wing coupe with performance that positions it near the top of the exotic segment. While the AMG team at Mercedes-Benz could have left it alone, their experience with the SLS AMG GT3 race car said there was room for improvement, so they devised the SLS Black Series. The transformation from SLS GT to SLS Black Series is extensive, with no fewer than 17 different significant enhancements.
The engine mapping, crankshaft, connecting rods, valve-train, intake, exhaust and cooling are all modified and the engine's redline bumps up from 7,200 to 8,000 rpm, which pushes output of the hand-built 6.3-liter V8 to 622 horsepower. The power steering receives a new ratio, a coil-over AMG Adaptive Performance suspension is installed along with underbody braces, the track is widened, two-piece carbon-ceramic brakes replace iron rotors at each corner and a lightweight titanium exhaust is fitted beneath. The AMG Speedshift seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is modified and an electronically controlled AMG rear differential lock ensures the power goes to the pavement. Last on the mechanical upgrades are new lightweight forged wheels (10x19 inches front and 12x20 inches rear) wrapped in special R-compound Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.
