This is a 1991 300SEL of which you don't come across this model too often. All I see around are the V8 variants of this strong, reliable chassis. Car has 213k miles & still going strong. Clean title on hand. No accident history. Having owned several W126 cars, the 6 cylinder is much more economical then the V8 variants

Color is Black Pearl with Grey leather which is in good condition sans a few worn spots seen in pics. Overall she has worn well and has a lot of life left in her! Just drove the car over 150 miles with no issues. The engine is super smooth and cruises at 85mph effortlessly. The engine does NOT smoke and does NOT burn any excessive amounts oil which is a common issue with this car that has the inline 6 cylinder engine.  Transmission is also in good condition including reverse gear! Exhaust system is good with no leaks either. The front end is tight with no clunks.  The sunroof is operational but needs a very good cleaning and lubrication. The Instrument panel is free of any cracks. All windows work, power seats work, power head restraints work.  I have the original owners manual, first aid kit & even the original window sticker from 1991! There is an aftermarket radio installed but I have the original Becker radio with 2 code cards.

Very recent tune up (plugs, wires, cap, coil)
New Battery earlier this year
Oil change just done
Within the past 2-3 years: radiator, thermostat, windshield. Has had top end engine work done within the past few years.
Front & rear brakes are Good
2 front tires are new, needs 2 rear tires but will have them replaced before the auction.

Valve cover needs to be resealed as oil is seeping. The common leak area (front cover area) has no leaks.
ABS light is on- Needs OVP Relay to fix the error
Brake warning light comes on sometimes due to the parking brake having a little slack which actuates the light
Corrosion on Left front (Driver side) fender but that is all! No other corrosion on the body. (Common corrosion spot on these W126 cars)
Needs new Hood pad
Hood & Roof have imperfections in the paint, not sure if you can tell in the pictures.
One instrument cluster bulb is out (The far right side where the Tachometer is)
Heater blower does not work.

Overall she is a great car & a solid runner. Although she is not perfect, do not let the mileage detract you from this car.  I suggest anyone interested in the car to come see it in person. The car is not registered or insured so test drives will be limited unless you agree to: sign a waiver, provide a copy of your license & insurance policy in case of a mishap. Message me with any questions.

Shipping of this item is the responsibility of the buyer.

The car has NO warranty & sold "as-is"

I will only accept $100 Deposit thru PAYPAL. Remaining balance will be due as CASH in person or BANK WIRE TRANSFER only!

Mercedes takes VW Westfalia Camper idea upscale with new Marco Polo

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz revealed the new V-Class. Slotting in below the popular Sprinter, the new V-Class replaced both the Viano and Vito upon its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. But Mercedes isn't quite done with it just yet. At the upcoming Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Germany, Mercedes will reveal the Marco Polo - a versatile, stylish and decidedly contemporary take on the classic camper van.
Named after the famous Italian explorer, the Marco Polo was converted by Westfalia, an outfit which you might more closely associate with classic VW camper vans but which Daimler absorbed over a decade ago. Offering, according to the press release below, "a maximum of opportunities to be independent, free and spontaneous," the Marco Polo sleeps four thanks to the rear bench that electrically folds flat into a bed and the second berth under the pop-top. The flexible interior is decked out like you'd expect a modern Mercedes to be, with ambient LED lighting as well as wood, metal and piano black trim.
It's got an onboard kitchenette with two gas burners, a sink and fridge with a 10 gallons of fresh water and an even bigger waste tank. All that gear is shlepped around by a choice of four-cylinder turbodiesel engines ranging in output from 136 to 190 horsepower. The relatively compact form boasts a turning circle similar to a full-size sedan and a height designed to fit into most garages and car washes. All of which just might make us reconsider the appeal of traveling by camper van.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class presentation leaked, debuting in May

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

WorldCarFans was reportedly sent what looks like a dealer presentation on the coming V222 series 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. There have been hints for years as to the kinds of technology the world's best-selling large luxury sedan will contain, and it appears those hints had some foundation. To be shown in Germany on May 15 before a launch window that runs from September to November this year, the evolutionary design will be built of aluminum and steel, using that lighter material for the front end, roof and "detached body parts."
Among the new options buyers will be able to choose are the Rear Seat Package with rear seatbelt airbags and active buckles that extend, a Warmth and Comfort Package with heated seats front and back, heated armrests and side panels, and power rear seats with active ventilation and memory function. There's a chauffeur seating option that comes with 10-way adjustable rear seats, an extendable footrest and folding tables in the front seatbacks.
Blatant technology will be on display via two 12.3-inch screens, one for the dash cluster and one for the COMAND infotainment screen on the instrument panel. The third generation of Nightview Assist Plus will be able to detect animals as well as humans, and the next generation of Surround View will provide high-res views all around the car. A touchpad and a color head-up display will arrive in 2015. It will be the first Mercedes-Benz to utilize LED lighting everywhere, inside and outside the car.

Online Find of the Day: Lexus-engined Mercedes pickup is a vintage hybrid

Tue, 16 Sep 2014

You have to love someone who gets incredibly committed to a very weird idea. What you see for sale here is a right-hand drive 1971 Mercedes-Benz 220D in South Africa, but this old Mercedes is now converted into a pickup, complete with bed cover, and there's big secret under the hood, too.
The pickup conversion appears well done based on seller Sedgefield Classic Cars' photos. Even the tonneau cover fits well. You could almost believe that this Mercedes lived its life as a Chevrolet El Camino-like pickup from the very beginning.
However, the rear-quarters conversion might not be the weirdest thing about this Mercedes. The original diesel is gone from the engine bay in favor of a Lexus V8. It seems really odd to pop the hood and find a Japanese mill in this German car, but the photos make it look like a fairly well performed swap. So, bravo to the crazy thinking. According to the seller speaking to Autoblog by email, "as far as we can establish, this was done a few years ago, with all Lexus components."
