This is a great 1986 Mercedes 560 SEL. If you know these cars, you know what you're looking at. They truly don't build 'em like this anymore. The car starts right up with one turn of the key every day. Very low mileage for the year. Most of these cars have over 200k on them. You can't find them with this kind of mileage. The car is not perfect. The hood and roof are very faded and scratched. The scratches don't show up in the pics but the hood and roof really need new paint. There is some slight rust/rot on the front of the fenders. You can see it in the pics. It could use a tune-up. Tires are ok but I would definitely put new ones on if I were to buy it. The best part is the low mileage and originality.The chrome is beautiful! Even the rear foot rests are still there. Only the drivers side window works. I don't know if the others are just a matter of switches or what the deal is. The moonroof opens sometimes and sometimes won't close so I'm not opening it and run the risk of getting stuck with it open. Brakes are ok but again, if I were buying it, I would change the rotors and pads. This is a great, great car for someone who can spend a day or 2 fixing some little things on it. I wouldn't call it a restoration project, it's far from that but it is 27 years old so keep that in mind. I'd love to keep it and make it perfect but the wife wants a 2nd home! Hope it goes to a Mercedes enthusiast!

2017 Aston Marin Lagonda could live on Mercedes M-Class platform
Tue, 29 Oct 2013A few weeks ago, we brought you news from the launch of the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante that the British brand, which is formally known as Aston Martin Lagonda, was still planning on going ahead with a Lagonda-badged crossover. Now comes word that that vehicle could very well be based on a Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
When the first Lagonda Concept debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, it sat on a Mercedes-Benz GL-Class platform, some four years before Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG deal was inked. And with that partnership, which will see Aston Martin gain access to AMG electrics and "bespoke, V8 powertrains," the opportunities for platform sharing are many.
Dr. Ulrich Bez, the boss of Aston Martin, told the UK's AutoCar, "I look at what Porsche is doing with the 911 as its core business and then it is able to do models like the Cayenne based on the Volkswagen Touareg. It is good business." We've said many times that we'll tolerate exotic CUVs and SUVs if it means keeping the beloved core models alive, which has been the case with Porsche. We see no reason Aston Martin wouldn't be able to do the same.
Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.
2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class lineup shows its freshened face
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Mercedes-Benz showed us its redesigned 2014 E-Class more than a month ago, but the Detroit Auto Show finally gave us a chance to see the full family of mid-size luxury cars and wagons in the flesh. Dieter Zetsche introduced the cars, including sedan, coupe, convertible and station wagon, on stage showing the stylish new design direction.
