1987 Mercedes 560sel One Owner California Car 93k Mi Immaculate Condition on 2040-cars
Van Nuys, California, United States
One owner
California car with very low 93k miles. This is an immaculate example of the
ultimate Mercedes-Benz W126 sedan, a 1987 560SEL finished in stunning Copper
color with Palomino leather. This car is equipped with power and heated seats
(front and back!), full leather, power sunroof, driver airbag, ABS brakes,
leather wheel and shifter, factory stereo, alloy wheels, and much
more. This is one of the finest examples I've seen in years, and the only
one owner car I can remember in ages. Everything is in good working order- the
engine runs smoothly, the transmission shifts as it should, the brakes are in
great shape, and the AC blows cold air. These cars were the ultimate sedans in
the 1980s, and are increasingly collectible today. Everything in the car is
original. This car has never been in an accident, and was always parked in a
garage. There are no scratches or dings in the paint. This car runs and drives
like a dream. Don't miss this one! A nonrefundable deposit of $500 is due
within 24 hours of auction close. Thank you for looking and good luck! |

New Die Hard movie wrecked 132 cars in $11 million chase scene [w/video]
Sat, 16 Feb 2013It would seem the act of dying hard brings with it lots of wanton destruction of the four-wheeled kind. According to John Moore, director of A Good Day To Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis, There were 132 (cars) that could never be used again. Another 518 required a lot of work. And damn right there were some good cars there... That's the fun of it."
Please join us in one great big collective sigh. Done? Okay, let's continue.
"With Die Hard it's about how audacious the action is," says Moore. "So you have to drive over a Lamborghini. An actual one. And yes it hurts me. I'm a car fanatic." Yeah. Sounds like it hurt really bad... though not as bad as the final tally after all the carnage had been counted: "Someone showed me the numbers on the car chase and soup to nuts, you put it all together it was like an $11 million sequence."
Mercedes S-Class Magic Body Control ad is clucking awesome
Tue, 24 Sep 2013This is a new ad from Mercedes-Benz. At no point does it show an automobile. Instead, it stars animals, but not the sort you might normally see in car commercial. This ad is all about chickens. It is bizarre, to say the least, with Diana Ross and the Supremes belting it out in the background, but it all kind of comes together when you realize just what Mercedes is hawking (yeah, pun intended).
It's for the manufacturer's Magic Body Control, found on the new S-Class. The system basically analyzes the road and prepares the suspension accordingly, leading to a ride that is, in the words of our own Chris Paukert "nothing short of spooky." You can read about it in our full review of the 2014 S550. Take a look below for the 53-second spot.
Mercedes considering GLA-based crossover coupe
Wed, 30 Apr 2014BMW opened a whole Pandora's Box when it introduced the X6 back in 2008. Sure it made little sense, sacrificing all that "utility" for a little more "sport," but it's been a solid success for BMW - especially considering the nominal expense it cost to develop the X6 on top of the X5 on which it's based. Little wonder that, while BMW has already followed up with a smaller version in the form of the X4, other automakers are starting to catch up. And that includes Mercedes-Benz.
The German automaker is preparing to launch a new MLC, based on the M-Class but with a sportier silhouette, and previewed it with the Concept Coupe SUV at the Beijing Motor Show. But that's just the start, according to the latest report from Automotive News Europe.
Mercedes is reportedly considering spinning off an entire line of crossovers more for use on the road than off it. Which may go without saying for most crossovers on the market, but considering the Geländwagen with which Mercedes got its start in SUVs, would mean an even further departure than it has undertaken already.
