I bought this as a surprise for my girlfriend from an older lady who had kept it garaged. It had needed some mechanical work but I have a 1995 E320 wagon and was up for the task. My mechanic said it showed no sign of body damage and the paint was original in good shape. Unfortunately when I was done I found out my girlfriend had another year on the lease and have decided to sell.
This was what has been replaced in the last 300 miles. If the parts weren't Factory, they were OEM.
Factory Head Gasket
Valve Stem Seals
Water Pump
Hydraulic Fan Clutch
Bearing Bracket and Idle Pulley
AC Compressor, Dryer, Expansion Valve & Pressure Switches.
Accessory Belt
Factory Timing Magnet
All hoses that were relevant in head gasket replacement.
All radiator hoses except lower, (was new looking)
New Bridgestone Turanza Tires
New Factory Driver side window regulator and motor.
New Lower Power Steering Gear Seal
Transmission Service, Oil Change, New Plugs, New Wires, New Air Filter
Cooling system service.
New Mercedes Rubber Floor Mats.
The car drives like a dream and blows ice cold air conditioning. Everything works on the car including cruise control. There are plenty of brakes on the front and rear.
The leather is in really good shape as well.
Noticed issues:
Factory radio works, but not well. Would definitely recommend a new one.
Wood between rear seat center console is deteriorating.
A-pillar, passenger side cover has a little fabric that needs to be re-glued.
This car had an MSRP of $61,600 and is a fabulous car in my opinion.
You can text or call with any question. I keep it locked up at my work so you are welcome to look at it any time during the week.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid for fat cats frugal with fuel
Thu, 12 Sep 2013Judging by how long we waited to get a clear shot of the Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid, you'd have thought hybrid cars were only driven by Terminators and that the technology arrived only 48 hours ago through a wormhole in the Mercedes stand. The newest member of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class hybrid band - joining the S400 Hybrid and S350 BlueTEC Hybrid, it hits notes like a 5.5-second sprint from standstill to 62 miles per hour, up to 19 miles of ion-powered running and uses three liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers in Europe (78.41 mpg US, but our mpg test cycle is different than their mpg test cycle).
The lump up front is a turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6, the lump in back - note the reduction in trunk space - is a pack of lithium-ion batteries that juice an 80-kilowatt electric motor. Other than having four drive options for controlling electric drive and battery usage, it's all S-Class all the time, with leather-covered everything and those mountainous thrones that bring to mind words like "Archduke" and "Papal."
You'll find our hard-earned gallery from the Frankfurt Motor Show floor above, and more words of information in the press release below.
Mercedes considering GLA-based crossover coupe
Wed, 30 Apr 2014BMW opened a whole Pandora's Box when it introduced the X6 back in 2008. Sure it made little sense, sacrificing all that "utility" for a little more "sport," but it's been a solid success for BMW - especially considering the nominal expense it cost to develop the X6 on top of the X5 on which it's based. Little wonder that, while BMW has already followed up with a smaller version in the form of the X4, other automakers are starting to catch up. And that includes Mercedes-Benz.
The German automaker is preparing to launch a new MLC, based on the M-Class but with a sportier silhouette, and previewed it with the Concept Coupe SUV at the Beijing Motor Show. But that's just the start, according to the latest report from Automotive News Europe.
Mercedes is reportedly considering spinning off an entire line of crossovers more for use on the road than off it. Which may go without saying for most crossovers on the market, but considering the Geländwagen with which Mercedes got its start in SUVs, would mean an even further departure than it has undertaken already.
VW joins Daimler's protest of new A/C refrigerant as EU deadline for compliance passes
Sun, 06 Jan 2013The case of Dupont and Honeywell's refrigerant R-1234yf is doing the exact opposite of keeping things cool. The two chemical companies have spent years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing R-1234yf to replace R-134a, the new refrigerant shown to be 99.7-percent kinder to the environment than the one it is meant to succeed. Part of that development has been years of testing by governments, outside safety agencies and automakers to approve the chemical for use in cars. It passed the protocols necessary for the European Union to declare that new and significantly revised cars from 2013 onward needed to use R-1234yf, and mandated that every car as of 2017 must use it.
Enter Daimler AG. The automaker created a head-on collision test with a B-Class at their Sindelfingen test track that would lead to the pressurized refrigerant being sprayed on the engine. The result in 20 out of 20 test was that the refrigerant burst into flames as soon as it hit the hot engine, while Daimler says that R-134a does not catch fire in the same test. Another unexpected result of the R-1234yf test was the release of hydrogen flouride, a chemical far more deadly to humans than hydrogen cyanide, emitted in such amounts that it that turned the windshield white as it began to eat into the glass.
Said a Daimler engineer in a Reuters piece, "It was scarcely believable. The most complicated lab tests conducted using the most sensitive measuring instruments around found nothing and all we do is drive a car around a couple of times, open a tiny hole in the refrigerant line and the next thing you know the car is on fire." So Daimler said it wouldn't use the refrigerant, and it recalled the cars it had already shipped with R-1234yf.
