Very Clean. Few Owners with the majority of its life in Georgia, I have nearly all the services records, exceeding well beyond $25K in work over the 14 years of its life. Mileage is high at 345,000, however, this was predominately highway mileage. Tranny shifts very smooth, Engine runs fantastic. Every feature on this car works great. The engine has no blow-by whatsoever. For the sake of brevity I am not including my full service list, however, I am happy to furnish an exhaustive list of items replaced, along with the original service tickets, at your request. It has had synthetic oil only since its birth, with routine change intervals. The car drives perfect with many parts having been replaced including a new set of 4 Michelin tires installed 3 months ago as well as headlight restoration by our mercedes only shop this month. The car has never to my knowledge been in any wreck. We have an intimate relationship to most all of its life so far, with the last 5 years having direct ownership. In addition to many expensive parts professionally replaced (many recently), every item of routine maintenance has been completed on schedule. My driving needs have changed and unfortunately this car is no longer needed. I am wishing this was not so.  My prior Mercedes was run on vegetable oil for 200,000 miles.  This one will do the same easily.  Also inquire about this, I have many details to provide and can answer any questions you may have.

For many more details or to view in person, please feel free to call me. I live in Norcross and can arrange to show the car on a flexible schedule.

Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

2011 Maybach 62 - Click above for high-res image gallery
What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.

VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.

Mercedes teams with Pebble for smartwatch tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

Most automakers have realized by now that a good infotainment system is a must-have feature for many buyers, and have, as a result, invested increasing amounts of time and money developing these technologies. But some automakers are going above and beyond in-car entertainment and navigation technology by focusing on wearable technology as well.
Nissan has emerged as one such company, developing its own alternative to Google Glass and performance-oriented smartwatch. But Mercedes-Benz is also putting itself at the forefront of wearable tech - not by developing competing products to those designed by dedicated tech companies, but by working with them. The German automaker, as we recently reported, is developing its own app for Google Glass, and is now doing the same with smartwatches as well.
Set to be unveiled at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Mercedes has collaborated with Pebble Technologies to develop the Digital DriveStyle app. The system will display tell its wearer where the car is, whether the doors are locked and if it needs fuel. Inside the car it'll alert the driver to potential hazards coming up on the road, while making functions like re-routing the nav system, controlling the audio system or activating Siri that much easier.
