95 S-500 coupe black on black fully loaded,It's about as equipped as they come plus some.I bought this vehicle from a family member with the intentions of making it a weekend cruiser/third vehicle,The wife says it has to go and i personally do not have any time to fix the few issues that i will list below to make it a daily driver. She was originally a southern Mercedes corporate lease vehicle for years, before coming to OH has never seen snow.No rust anywhere on her or body damage, for a 95 the paint is nice and glossy and the under carriage is solid.I will now list everything needed to make her a daily driver(i have a estimate from an authorized Mercedes repair shop for everything i am listing below these are the exact figures with parts and labor).
- Crankshaft Valve Sensor $470
- Drivers Window Motor $299
- Internal Transmission Diagnosis and repair $790
- Vacuum Pump $159
- Front Shocks $ 260
- Touch up scrapes on front bumper(please see picture) did not get estimate
- plastic panel on bottom of drivers seat $48
- Replace spark plugs $ 160
- Wheel scrapes did not get estimate
The seats and headliner are in great condition,no rips tears or stains, she also has extra wood grain almost everywhere that i have not seen on other coupes except a designo edition. She does have the double pained glass, and the soft close package which has a mind of it's own works sometimes other times a no go(the vacuum pump repairs that)
Work i have done to it since owned. New rotors front, new pads all the way around, mass air flow sensor and service B.
I have been offered up to $1400 by people who want to part her out,Just doesn't seem right will a little bit of love or mechanical skills you can have a unique $10k vehicle,I have been as honest and descriptive as i possibly could be,I understand without looking at a vehicle one is hesitant, but this one should be a no-brainer for a MB enthusiast or mechanic.I will do a 3 day no reserve auction, feel free to message me with any questions or concerns or if you would like to see a copy of the estimate. Thanks for looking and good luck.

Clark Gable's 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing doesn't sell, then does sell for $1.85 million [UPDATE: w/video]
Sat, 19 Jan 2013How much extra value does previous celebrity ownership add to of a car? Really, there's no way to know until the car in question hits the auction block and bidders start raising their hands. In the case of the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing you see above, the celebrity owner is none other than Clark Gable, who purchased it new. After Gable's death in 1960, the car changed hands a few times before settling with Charles Wood in 1975.
A high-dollar restoration was performed in 1989, and period accessories added by Gable himself were kept in place, including the Rudge knock-off wheels and Nardi steering wheel. Any Mercedes-Benz 300SL is worth a big chunk of money. In the case of Clark Gable's old Gullwing, the bidding stalled at $1.9 million here at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale. As one of the 5000-series cars, this 300SL carried a reserve, and a bit of after-the-fact dealmaking saw the car change hands for $1.85 million.
You can see our high-res image gallery above, and the car's official auction description below.
Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
Mercedes releases 6x6 G63 AMG specs and pics [w/video]
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Mercedes-Benz has finally dropped full details on its insane G63 AMG 6x6. The machine puts 544 horsepower to all six wheels thanks to a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8. A seven-speed gearbox shuttles power to the ground via three sets of portal axles, which helps give this machine a full 15.75 inches of ground clearance. By comparison, the standard G63 AMG sits with just 8.27 inches of ground clearance. The extra lift allows this 6x6 to ford nearly 40 inches of water and run massive 37-inch tires. All told, there are five differential locks on this thing, all controlled by a special "locking logic" that provides the best traction possible for any given situation.
The controls offer up three stages of locking, which we can only assume range from JKLOL to OMGWTF. Right now, AMG says this monstrosity is only a show vehicle, but we imagine it wouldn't take much to convince the team to whip up one of your very own. Check out our full gallery and the press release below for all the nitty gritty. While you're down there, you can also check out the video on the machine one more time.
