Up for sale is my 2003 Mercedes-Benz S430. Currently has 81,150 original miles on it. Comes with all the bells and whistles plus navigation (nav dvds are the most recent), heated seats, cd changer, premium bose sound system, integrated garage door opener, auto dimming rear and side view mirrors, rear windshield sunshade, electric adjustable tilt/telescoping steering column. It also has standard headlights rather than xenon headlights. (This is a good thing in my opinion, considering that the bulb for a xenon headlight costs over $100.) Everything in the car works perfectly. A/C is ice cold. Tires were replaced at 76k miles (Michelin Primacy MXV4`s). The car runs and drives amazing. It`s very clean in and out. As you can tell from the pictures the drivers seat does not have any wear/tear on it. It has been maintained meticulously and anything its ever needed has been fixed. Comes with all service/maintenance records since first owner (about $18k invested). Emissions are good until July of 2014 and the title is a clean Arizona title. It has never been in any accidents. Insurance claim was filed by the last owner for vandalism in a parking garage. The stock wheels were stolen off the car and some scratches were put on the rear bumper. The scratches were never fixed because they are very minor. It`s difficult to tell they`re even there. The car has stock wheels on it again and yes, they are the correct wheels for the year. Last service was a major 80k service ($1,200) which was done about a month ago. Car should not need anything until its next oil change which is due in approximately 10k miles or 12 months. All the repairs that are common for this year and mileage (80-100k miles) have been done. Most recent repair was replacement of the rear main seal ($1,000) because of a minute oil leak (quarter size stain on my epoxy floor in 10 days). I know that isn`t much but I am very picky about this car. The car has been inspected by a Mercedes-Benz dealer and was told it needs absolutely nothing. I would like to encourage you to get your own buyer`s inspection as well. Floor mats have been replaced about 2 months ago and still look brand new. I have all of the original manuals and 2 keys for the car. One of the keys was replaced last year (chrome key). Email if you have any questions or to set up a viewing. I am selling this car locally and reserve the right to end this auction at any time without notice. Buyer is responsible for any shipping/transport fees if vehicle is transported. $500 non-refundable deposit is required via PayPal immediately after auction ends. Rest of the payment can be through PayPal, Cash, or Cashiers Check certified by US bank within 3 days of auction end. No wire transfers. Thanks for looking and have a fantastic day !

VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.

2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series [w/video]

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Now Even Sharper Than The Razor's Edge
There have been five Black Series models since the Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG Black Series introduced itself to European audiences in 2006. Following that, the Black Series club has hosted appearances by the 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series, the 2009 SL65 AMG Black Series and last year's 2013 C63 AMG Black Series. The sixth member of the group is one we would have thought already was a Black Series car in its standard guise. Right out of the box, the SLS AMG is loud, frenetic, cozy, boisterous and frightfully easy to oversteer. How much more Black did it need to get?
Quite a bit so, apparently. The SLS AMG Black Series has lost weight, gained power and been refitted with upgrades and aero bits from front to rear. If you liked the way it looked before, you'll probably be an even bigger fan of this one. If you thought it looked ungainly, well, this one should stay even further away from pageants. Regardless of where you come down this is the best SLS AMG variant we've driven.

New Mercedes Unimog debuts to the cheers of little boys everywhere [w/video]

Sat, 27 Apr 2013

The Mercedes Unimog, the superhero villain of the off-road world that's just waiting to make the jump to Transformer, has been completely upgraded for its new generation. There are ten models, expanding the range and getting new designations across the traditional all-terrain series and the implement-carrier series. Panoramic cabins get more visibility, multifunction steering wheels and better dash clusters, improved HVAC and a three-mode central tire inflation system. Outside, there are new items like LED headlights and daytime running lamps in the bumper, roof-mounted windshield wipers and a front-camera monitor for the implement carrier.
The new engine lineup is compliant with Euro VI, featuring four- and six-cylinder BlueEfficiency engines putting out anywhere from 156 horsepower to 354 hp. Powerplant placement has also been tweaked, the chassis members getting a revised curve to place the engine a bit further back and lower, maintaining off-road clearance and lowering the Unimog's center of gravity. The new location of the engine means the cabin has more room, and the wheelbase is shorter. Combined with a higher turning angle, the Unimog has a smaller turning radius than before.
The implement carrier gets what's called a "synergistic traveling drive," the bonus being that drivers don't need to stop in order to use an attachment - a hydrostatic transmission works with the regular manual transmission at up to 31 kilometers per hour for seamless switching.
