This is a beautiful Mercedes that still runs and drives like a dream! It has never been smoked in and has always been garage kept. The best part of THIS car is that you don't have to take MY word for it, IT COMES WITH A WARRANTEE! I have a bumper to bumper extended warrantee that does not expire until March 29th of 2013. So that means that if you drive it for a couple of weeks and think that you feel the transmission slipping, or the the engine not running smoothly, you just take it to the dealer and get it repaired or replaced! The warrantee costs only $25.00 to transfer into your name, and it covers the engine, trans, electrical, seals and gaskets, steering, air conditioning, timing belt, cooling systems, fuel systems, hi-tech electrical, substitute transportation, 24-hour roadside assistance, it basically covers everything except wear and tear items like tires, brakes and suspension. Well, those items that are not covered, I just replaced myself! I put new brakes on it four months ago, and the two front tires are new, the two rear are six months old, and the suspension is all brand new! These cars come with an Air-Matic suspension that makes the drive incredibly smooth, but this suspension tends to go out after about ten years or so. My car first had an air leak in the front, it is so common that Mercedes actually has a kit to repair it, it cost $1,000.00! My car also needed the compressor, and other parts, replaced in the rear and that costs around $3,000.00! I had both of the repairs made at the Mercedes dealership and have all the receipts. If you don't buy this car, make sure to ask about the Air-Matic suspension on the Mercedes you do buy, like I said, it is very common for it to start leaking air. Once the air starts leaking, the car sits so low to the ground that it is not drivable, it has to be flat bedded to the dealer for repair. I have a picture of my car on the flatbed also. I love this car and thought I would have it for at least another 80,000 miles! Unfortunately, my family has outgrown it and I hate to say it, but my Mercedes days are over and I have to embrace my minivan years. Good luck, and enjoy!

The Mansory Speranza proves that money can buy taste and good sense...
Tue, 05 Mar 2013...Just kidding.
No one in their right mind has ever accused German tuners Mansory of being subtle. So, when our Geneva team wandered across the Mansory Speranza - A Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen that has been denuded of its roof and spackled inside with quilted leather and red carbon fiber - they didn't ask a lot of existential questions. Why does the Speranza exist? Because Germans are weird sometimes, that's why.
Forget for a moment that you'll have to pay Mansory hundreds of thousands of euros (we're guessing, no pricing information has been revealed) for the privilege of converting your G-Class into something that looks like a Suzuki Samurai, and prepare to be impressed by the details. The tuning house has increased the output of the Mercedes V8 to a healthy 700 horsepower and 668 pound-feet of torque. The wheels are 24-inches, and wear almost unbelievable 305-section ultra-high performance Vresdestein tires. Carbon fiber can be found nearly everywhere one looks, including making up the housing for the spare tire. Oh, and there are leather pillows for the backseats... no word on whether they're standard or optional, but we're looking in to it.
Maybach lost upwards of $500k on each vehicle sold
Wed, 08 Feb 2012Daimler is shuttering Maybach in 2013 after seven years of production. In that time, the company's ultra-ultra-luxury arm managed to sell just 3,000 units, and CAR reports Daimler lost somewhere around $500,000 on each and every one of them.
Even with a ludicrous price tag of over $370,000 for an "entry" Maybach 57, the brand couldn't quite recoup the dizzying $1.33 billion Daimler poured into it since its (re)inception. Rumors ignited over a possible tie up with Aston Martin that would have resulted in a range of new and attractive models, but Daimler has instead decided to snuff out Maybach altogether.
We can hardly blame them.
YouTube's Super Bowl commercial buzz list dominated by automakers [w/videos]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013After Sunday's big game, YouTube will be the place to watch every commercial that you missed when you left your seat for an emergency guac refill or, as we say in Cleveland, took the Browns to the Super Bowl. That makes YouTube the nation's water cooler on Monday, and it's got some preliminary stats to share in the lead up to kickoff.
As you know, Super Bowl advertisers, particularly automakers, like to endlessly tease their big budget commercials in the weeks before the game, many times revealing them outright days in advance. Because of this, YouTube can tell us which commercials have been viewed the most so far, and their top five list is all automakers.
Kaley Cuoco appears to have been a good investment for Toyota, as her ad for the RAV4 has garnered the most YouTube views - six million and counting - among Super Bowl commercials so far. Second place goes to Mercedes-Benz, though not its actual Super Bowl commercial, but rather the teaser for it. You know, the one with Kate Upton and the car washing, which is up to 5.6 million views. Third place is Audi's Prom commercial (3.3M views), fourth goes to Volkswagen's slightly controversial Get In, Get Happy ad (3.3M views), and the fifth and final spot is bookended by the teaser video for Kaley Cuoco's commercial (3.2M views). You can watch all five in order below.
