This s420 has been meticulously maintained since its new delivery in June of 1995. I have the service records since its origin. The mercedes tech who sold me the car knew the original owner and did much of the services personally. It has a couple small blemishes, but are minuscule when you see the rest of the cars condition. The paint is shiny, and the body is straight with no dings dents and has never had any aftermarket paintwork. Interior is very clean, no tears in the seats and the seats all are symmetrical in their excellent condition. Suspension Is in great shape and has been maintained as recommended by Mercedes dealer. Tires are two month old matching Michelin primacy tires that show little wear, and have over 3/4 of life left. Rear brakes recently done within last 5k. Front brakes have about half life left on them. Recent oil and trans fluid service done as well as fresh spark plugs, fuel filter and air filters. Belts and hoses are in excellent condition. Timing belt service due at 160 k or so. Has factory cd changer in trunk, with factory cassette player in dash. Car is all factory. Windows are equipped with double pane glass for road noise control. Doors have soft close feature as well as trunk. Good on gas for being a v8. Great power and luxurious comfort will guide you to your destinations in this well kept Mercedes Benz. Mercedes working on new inline-six engines
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Mercedes-Benz will make a return to the inline-six-cylinder engine game, according to a report from the UK's AutoCar. It's not clear what's prompting the phasing out of the current array of V6s.
We'll see the first inline-six from Mercedes in next-generation E-Class, set to debut in 2016. Following that, it'll arrive as part of a mid-cycle refresh for the C-Class in 2017. What's particularly special about the new inline-six is its modular nature, which will allow Mercedes to eventually spinoff three- and four-cylinder options, with the three-pot arriving alongside the new inline-six.
In other news, AutoCar uncovered some details on the next C-Class AMG, which will ditch its excellent 6.2-liter, AMG V8 in favor of a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, although we've already told you about that. What we didn't know at the time, though, was that the 4.0-liter would be paired first with a new, seven-speed AMG Speedshift transmission and offer all-wheel drive. AC also reports that a nine-speed Speedshift is in the works.
Aston Martin signs Letter of Intent for technical partnership with AMG
Thu, 25 Jul 2013A little over two months ago came reports that Daimler and Aston Martin were in talks, again, about "supply and technical-cooperation agreements." The next step has been taken with Aston Martin announcing that it has signed a Letter of Intent that looks "towards a technical partnership" with Mercedes-AMG GmbH, and the two companies aiming to have definitive agreements done by year's end.
While it will get to use certain electric and electronic components from AMG, the true golden egg for the maker of the Vanquish will be the ability to develop a new line of "bespoke V8 powertrains" that will be fitted to "a new generation of models." In return for opening up the larder, Daimler will get a non-voting stake of up to five percent of Aston Martin.
Nothing else is being said about the tie-up for the moment, but there's a press release below with a few more details.
Mercedes considering GLA-based crossover coupe
Wed, 30 Apr 2014BMW opened a whole Pandora's Box when it introduced the X6 back in 2008. Sure it made little sense, sacrificing all that "utility" for a little more "sport," but it's been a solid success for BMW - especially considering the nominal expense it cost to develop the X6 on top of the X5 on which it's based. Little wonder that, while BMW has already followed up with a smaller version in the form of the X4, other automakers are starting to catch up. And that includes Mercedes-Benz.
The German automaker is preparing to launch a new MLC, based on the M-Class but with a sportier silhouette, and previewed it with the Concept Coupe SUV at the Beijing Motor Show. But that's just the start, according to the latest report from Automotive News Europe.
Mercedes is reportedly considering spinning off an entire line of crossovers more for use on the road than off it. Which may go without saying for most crossovers on the market, but considering the Geländwagen with which Mercedes got its start in SUVs, would mean an even further departure than it has undertaken already.
