Beautiful and unique color combination of cream and beige, engine starts and runs but runs rough and is in need of a serious tune up. Will need to tow.Selling because i cannot find a mechanic to tune this car up,no matter how hard i try.I have wasted hundreds of dollars towing the car to shops where the car just sits and wait to be tuned up but they never get to it.The best i did was i found a German repair shop where they repair these cars.In fact i saw a few of these cars at the shop. However they cannot give me a date to bring the car in.I waited for two weeks and they still cannot give me a date. Its frustrating. If anyone knows of a shop that can tune this car up right away,i will be forever grateful for the info.  I will pay for the tune up and keep the car.The rear glass is cracked and there is some visible rust and hairline cracks on the right side panel and left front quarter panel.See pictures.Except for cracks in the dash the leather seats and the door panels and the rest of the inside is in great condition .No rips or tears in the seats. The headliner is also in good condition. With minor work this car can exceed your expectations and that of the onlookers.Brand NEW REAR TIRES with zero miles  REFERENCE TO ISSUE FOUND--ANY TITLE OR ODOMETER PROBLEMS ARE PROBABLE BEFORE MY OWNERSHIP  DEPOSIT OF $500.00(five hundred dollars) WITHIN 24 HRS. Mercedes-Petronas AMG W04 launched to little fanfare, lots of pressure [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

No indoor cocktail hour for the launch of the W04, the newest chassis built by the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team. Instead, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton spent a morning in photo and video sessions at the track in Jerez, Spain then paused a moment to introduce the car. The team will want the W04 to demonstrate the World Championship credentials of the team personnel and one of the team drivers, instead of the mostly humble performances we've seen over the past three years.
The W04 has been fitted with a new five-element front wing, pushrod front and pull-rod rear suspension, a second-generation Coanda exhaust and an "aggressively packaged" rear end. A small vanity panel, à la Infiniti Red Bull's RB9, covers the stepped nose.
Team principal Ross Brawn has called it "a clear step forward in design and detail sophistication," but as much as we truly respect Brawn's abilities and achievements, we heard him say similar things about the updated W03 last year before almost every race weekend from about mid-season. We really hope he's right this time, and so does the team's newest driver, Lewis Hamilton. We'll do our best to ignore the parallels of the Mercedes F1 team having signed a sponsorship deal with Blackberry, another company trying to find its way back to the top and still struggling, and just point you to the video below of the W04 in action.

Man makes record-setting drive across the US in 28 hours, 50 minutes

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

Records, as the say, are made to be broken. Whether that's cramming the most hot dogs down your gullet, running a faster mile, or yes, driving across the United States, odds are that there's someone out there wants to eat more, run faster or drive harder. Speaking of that last example, the record for driving from a set location on the east coast, in particular the Red Ball Garage in Manhattan to the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach, CA, has been one that has fascinated gearheads since a guy named Cannonball Baker made the trek from New York to LA in 53 hours, 30 minutes, in 1933.
The competition saw its glory days when Car and Driver's Brock Yates came up with the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash (more affectionately known as the Cannonball Run), although the record was most recently set by Alex Roy and his 32-hour, seven-minute trek behind the wheel of a BMW M5 in 2006. Now, there's a new champion, who made the trip from east to west in a scarcely imaginable 28 hours and 50 minutes, behind the wheel of a 2004 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG. That's works out to an average speed of 98 miles per hour over the course of 2,813.7 miles.
His name is Ed Bolian, and Jalopnik has a writeup of the epic voyage that details everything from the history of the Cannonball Run to Bolian's preparation and trouble finding co-drivers, to the trip itself. It is well worth a read.

Watch this perfectly nice Mercedes get crushed by a front-end loader

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

In a world where the YouTube hoax continues to thrive, it's hard to know what to think of this little vid, but here are the facts as we know them: a coupe that looks like a first-generation Mercedes-Benz CLK gets crushed by a giant front-end loader. There you have it.
Our questions arise in the aftermath - we know industrial resource machinery is heavy, but the Benz gets squashed so flat we wonder if someone's trying to play a joke on us. We hear that the white coupe may have been the heavy-equipment operator's foreman's car, but who knows? The on-camera interview seems awfully conveniently placed, yes? See for yourself in the video below and then leave us your thoughts in Comments.
