We purchased this fun Mercedes Roadster back in April from a local car dealer. We are the second owners. This was going to be our "fun" car to use during the summer months. My wife took one look at this car and said; "That's MY car!!!" And so it was. I hardly got to drive it all summer! She has put 7K miles on it (all freeway). NADA Says $15,925 for a clean retail value We've very reluctantly decided to sell because we purchased a new home in September and our old home hasn't sold yet. (GULP!) So sadly the toys have to go while we wait for our old home to sell. This car is in terrific shape (and better darn well be after only 34K miles!) The paint is in fantastic shape. So is the interior. I would replace both headlights as there is some condensation inside the lenses. But that's absolutely all it needs. I'm happy to bring it to any local dealer / shop to have it independently inspected. It is very quick and fun to drive. It has 192 Horse power. It's very quiet and comfortable. We don't smoke and the interior is in great shape. The top operates perfectly. The trunk is surprisingly large. The tires only have 7K miles on them. It has the 5 speed Automatic transmission that can also be operated as a manual transmission car.

Mercedes Makes A Mighty Little Sedan
We got overexcited when the W203 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan came out in 2001, calling it the "Baby Benz" when it really wasn't. We knew that, too, but our enthusiasm for a model more like the old 190 of the '80s was so strong that we were willing to stretch the first-gen C-Class to fit that mold. Today, the C-Class has done what all German premium cars do: grown in size. In this case, grown to satisfy the market intentions of the previous E-Class.
There was the tall A-Class sold from 1998 through 2010, but we never considered that a serious small Benz in the proper spirit, nor was it ever offered in the US. Regardless, we've been craving a smaller, premium, sexy sedan all the while.

Mercedes to roll out S65 AMG Coupe in July

Mon, 07 Apr 2014

We're still a couple of weeks away from the public debut of the new Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe at the fast-approaching New York Auto Show, but already we're receiving word of an even more powerful version in the works. That, of course, would be the S65 AMG Coupe - the twelve-cylinder version of the latest S-Class Coupe, two-door counterpart to the S65 AMG sedan and replacement for the outgoing CL65 AMG.
Like the four-door version rolled out back in November, the S65 AMG Coupe would be distinguished from less powerful vehicles (which, lets face it, is just about everything) principally by its engine: a massive, 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 that produces 621 horsepower, 738 pound-feet of torque and cares as much about global warming as an oil-shipping mega-tanker.
Because Merc's 4Matic all-wheel drive system can't handle that much torque, the ne plus ultra coupe would (like the S65 sedan but unlike the S63 coupe) be offered only in rear-drive form. That means it will have that much more trouble getting the power down to the road, but since the Magic Body Control suspension is similarly incompatible with 4Matic, the flagship coupe will get that trick suspension.

Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG formalize technical partnership

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

The development of a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin has been a long time coming. The news dates back to 2008, and over the five years since was supposed to lead to a rejuvenation of both the Maybach and Lagonda brands. That program ultimately fell apart, but the tie-in was forged afresh in July when the two automakers signed a letter of intent over a renewed partnership. And now that partnership has been formalized.
In a deal just announced, Mercedes-AMG will build a new V8 engine for Aston Martin that will power a new generation of luxury GTs for the British marque, presumably to replace the 4.7-liter V8 in the Vantage. The relationship appears to be similar to the one already in place between AMG and Pagani, only in this case, will involve Daimler taking as much as a five-percent stake in Aston Martin and an observer seat on Aston's board.
The technical partnership is also set to lead to the supply of electric and electronic systems, and could incorporate "additional areas of cooperation in the future." Whether that will include a fresh attempt at reviving Lagonda remains to be seen, as does the future of Aston's long-serving, Ford-based 6.0-liter V12 engine. But for now you can read the full announcement below.
