Matching numbers 1973 Cougar XR7 with a 351 Cleveland.
The vehicle is by no means fully restored as it needs a few things but read on to find out why this is a steal of a deal!

I am all about being upfront and honest so that people
No worries I have the CLEAN, UNBRANDED title in hand. This Classic piece of American Muscle shows 83k miles on the Odometer and anyone who knows anything about older vehicles knows that the Odometer can "roll over" meaning the vehicle COULD technically have 183k miles but THIS vehicle was stored for 9 1/2 years so there is a very very strong chance that it truly is 83k miles.

What I have done since I got the car:
Brand New Fuel Pump
Brand New Accelerator pump gasket
Brand New Battery
Brand New Fuel Filter
Brand New Plugs
Brand New Plug Wires
Brand New Distributor Cap

I also have a newly ordered (not installed)XR7 Rear Seat (pictured)

As pictured I also have the Original American Racing Wheels.

Factory AC and Heat BOTH work great!!

The TLC needed for full restoration if desired:
The Brakes need to be done, they are functional at best.
The front seats should be reupholstered (it's a matter of preference)
It also obviously needs paint.
There is Very Very minimal body damage and it is all on the front of the body on the driver side front corner panel which, as you can see, is almost un-noticeable.
Lastly it needs a carpet kit.

Jill Wagner retired as Mercury spokeswoman

Wed, 17 Nov 2010

Jill Wagner has officially given up her crown as the queen of Mercury. With the Ford middle child on its way to the scrap heap, Wagner no longer has any automotive hardware to promote. Given her varied talents, we wouldn't be surprised to see her pick up where she left off with another automaker.
And here you thought you'd never be upset about Mercury's passing.
Thanks for the tip, Gregg!

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.

Ford announces bevy of recalls, 2 of which are recalls on recalls

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
