Auction is for a 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis 2 door hdtp. with 34,000 original miles. I am the 2nd owner. Original Black paint with a 1/2 padded vinyl top and original Gray cloth interiorwhich looks new. The car has never been in the winter and never hit. Updates include battery, tires, A/C compressor, 1 P/W motor and alternator. I purchased the car with 25K miles in 2008. The A/C needs a charge as i don't drive it that often. It is very straight and clean. It was Super Sealed at the L/M dealership when new. The are a couple of small dings in the drivers door edge from original owner but i did not have the heart to touch or repaint. The hood was repainted but the original owner did not know it , thus it must have been on pre-delivery or at the assy. plant but all other paint is ORIGINAL !. The spare is the original and NEVER been removed from the trunk ! It starts, drives excellent and cruises at highway speeds nicely.. It is a 5.0L V8 with the AOD overdrive. It has ALL power options and everything works including the clock. Call 734-9681281 for questions and i can forward additional pictures.

Ford Recalling 70k Escape and Mariner Hybrids for cooling issue

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Ford is recalling about 70,209 examples of the 2005-2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and the 2006-2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid because the cooling pumps for their hybrid systems could fail.
According to the company's defect notice, it's possible for the original "Motor Electronics Coolant (MEC) Pump" to wear out and fail, which would could cause the hybrid system to overheat. If this happens, the vehicle goes into a safety mode that takes away most or all of its power. However, braking and steering still operate normally. After cooling down, the affected models restart normally. The company says that it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
Ford will begin repairing the vehicles in late October, and dealers will be installing improved, brushless pumps on the affected models at no charge to owners. If drivers had their pumps fail before this recall, they can contact Ford for a possible reimbursement. Ford recalls Five Hundred, Mercury Montego sedans over fuel tank woes

Mon, 18 Jul 2011

Ford has announced through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it is recalling nearly 3,000 examples of its Five Hundred and Mercury Montego (pictured) sedans from the 2007 model year.
The action, which affects 2,945 vehicles, is due to potentially defective welds between the filler neck and the fuel tank, a condition that could result in a fuel leak or the smell of gasoline reaching the occupants. In the worst-case scenario, a leak could cause a fire. Cars with the affected fuel tank problem could see an illuminated dashboard warning light as a result of the evaporative emissions leak being detected.
Ford will inspect and replace the fuel tank at no cost to owners (those who have already had the procedure done at-cost can apply for reimbursement), and the Dearborn automaker will begin notifying Five Hundred and Montego owners beginning August 15. Check out the official NHTSA press release after the jump for further details.

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
