OH MY!! THIS IS A SHARP BLACK BEAUTY. THIS 2007 MERCURY MILAN WILL REMIND YOU OF A EUROPEAN SEDAN(BMW, MERCEDES) AT A FRACTION OF THE PRICE!

This Milan is a great looking vehicle. Black inside and out, loaded with every option such as pwr. windows, locks, auto climate control, dual power, leather, heated front seats, factory power moon roof, Pioneer touchscreen audio system, redundant steering wheel controls, aftermarket black wheels, etc. etc. etc! You want it? This has it. This is also the rare 5-speed. That gives you two things: amazing fuel economy(32 MPG), and a sporty driving experience. This isn't one of the cheap, boring econobox cars that you usually have to get for 30+ MPG, this sport tuned Milanis actually fun to drive. This car also only has 70,000 miles, excellent for a 2007. I will describe this vehicle in detail, but overall it is a great running, driving, looking car.

Lets start with the interior. This vehicle is in really good shape inside. It is clean, and there is no damage on the seats, dash, door panels, floors, etc. Just a really clean car inside with no issues other than the lid of the cup holder. You can see in the pictures that it is missing, doesn't effect functionality sinc you need it open to use anyway. All of the buttons work, and as I mentioned, this is fully loaded and sharp.

The exterior: overall this is an excellent looking vehicle as you can see in the pictures. It is used and has a couple bumps, scratches, and the like. I will go into detail on these. If you look at the pics, the front bumper has a split in it, right where it meets the grill, hard to see unless you ar looking for it, but it is there. The bottom air vent is also broken. This is a 30.00 part on Ebay. The front and rear bumpers also have some minor spidering. On these newer cars it is hard to find any without the spidering or that have been re-painted. You can bump a blade of grass and they will spider. It is also easily fixed, any of those paintless dent repair places can sand a bumper and spray it for a very reasonable fee if you want it to be perfect. As you can see the rear tail light was broken and someone fixed it with marker lights. The other side has a chip out of it on the bottom as you can see in the pics. The passenger rear door has a dent over the door handle, I couldn't get it to show up in any pictures, I'm not sure if you can see it in any of them, but it is a couple thin lines in the area directly above that door handle. There isn't any paint damage, so it's really odd, and I'm not sure how it happened. Also on that same rear quarter, on the pillar, there is a line about like the edge of a ruler, maybe 3-4" in length. Again, no paint damage, just an impression, and I couldn't get that in any pics either. The wheels have curb rash, delamination on the edges. You can see that in the pics. There are places that can fix these wheels, if you like the look, which I do, or you can get a set of factories for about 300.00. Other than that, it's just normal door ding, scuff, stuff. I want to stress that pictures do speak a thousand words, this thing is oozing with curb appeal, and if you just walked up to the car, it looks every bit as good as it does in the pics. This is close inspection stuff that I wanted you to know about. Honestly, unless it was a reconditioned vehicle on a dealer lot, or a cream puff private owner, I think it's right in line with what it is. Those options would cost you 11,000-12,000, and on Ebay I don't think we are going to be talking that kind of money on this one. For what you pay on this no reserve auction you will probably have way more left to make it perfect, then you would need.

Mechanically this is in great condition. The engine runs smooth and has plenty of power with no abnormal noises, smoke, or issues of any kind. The transmission shifts fine, and the clutch is about half way. This Milan stops great, no chatter. It goes down the road smooth, rides nice. The tires are in good shape with pleanty of tread left. I would guess these tires have less than 15,000 miles on them. Everything works as it should. Strong mechanical vehicle.

So thats it. This is an AMAZING looking car, that runs and drives great, with 30+ MPG! The KBB value for the 2007 Mercury Milan Premier is 12,559, and if you look around at dealers locally, you will find that is about what they want for them. This low mileage Milan is absolutely no reserve, high bidder owns it. Tell me what it's worth! I've had it too long and time to go. I do have a clear title for it, and it does have a clean carfax. It comes with 2 keys, keyless entry, and the owners manual. I do have a small payoff locally(about an hour away) so we will have to run up there and pay it off, then I can give you the title. It's a quick deal, no waiting for titles or anything, we just pay it and they hand it over. I will give you the title and a bill of sale, and you are on your way! Any questions I didn't answer, please let me know.

I need a paypal deposit of 500.00 within 48 hours of auction end, and full payment and pickup is due within 7 days. Shipping is your responsibility, but I will help as much as I can from here.

Good luck, and good bidding!

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

NHTSA upgrades Ford floor mat unintended acceleration probe

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

According to a Bloomberg report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has upgraded an investigation into complaints of unintended acceleration lodged against Ford vehicles. The investigation began in June of 2010 when just three complaints had been received and it only concerned the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but this was at a time when the phrase "unintended acceleration" made grown men go pale. With 49 additional complaints received since then, the investigation has been reclassified as an engineering analysis - the last phase before a recall - and it has been expanded to include the Lincoln MKZ, making for a total of "around 480,000" units affected between the three sedans from the 2008 to 2010 model years.
The ostensible cause is that floor mats are trapping the accelerator pedal, but according to a Ford statement at the time, the entrapment is due to owners placing the optional all-weather floor mats, or aftermarket floor mats, on top of the car's standard floor mats. NHTSA has backed up that assessment, pinning the blame on "unsecured or double stacked floor mats."
On the face of it, it would appear that NHTSA has upgraded the status not because of Ford's error, but owner error, and Ford has stated publicly that it is "disappointed" in NHTSA's move. On top of NHTSA still being skittish after that other unintended acceleration debacle, it could be seen to be taking its time investigating all of the variables: it's reported that Ford changed its accelerator pedal design in 2010, a "heel blocker" in the floorpan has been considered a potential culprit in how the floor mats could be trapping the pedal, some drivers have said the floor mats weren't anywhere near the pedal, and according to a report in the LA Times, in "a letter sent by Ford to NHTSA in August 2010, the automaker said it found three injuries and one fatality that 'may have resulted from the alleged defect.'"

Translogic drives wood-burning Mercury Beaver XR-7

Sun, 31 Jul 2011

You read the title right, we're talking about the Mercury Beaver XR-7. No, Mercury never officially built a car called the beaver. This is the brainchild of upstate New Yorker Chip Beam, who owns and operates Beaver Energy, LLC. It runs on gases created by wood pellets fermented in a 2,400-degree furnace and fed to a supercharged Ford 4.6-liter V8.
By all accounts, it gets down the road just fine, and has pretty close to full power. The best part is, you can grow the fuel yourself and avoid patronizing big oil, if that's your thing. The only drawback that we can see to the Mercury Beaver XR-7 is the PVC pipe jungle occupying the space that would be the trunk under normal circumstances.
Still, if you're willing to smell like a mountain man and look like a bad Back to the Future knockoff, this ride is right up your alley. Click past the jump to see Translogic's take on this modified Merc.
