Cleveland, Ohio, United States
2009 Mercury Milan Premier Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Price = $10,361 Our Low Reserve Price = $5,000 107,500 miles Vehicle is in pristine condition. This vehicle truly rides and performs as well as it looks! The vehicle belonged to a client who brought it to us for front brake pad service. Due to their schedule they dropped off the vehicle in the afternoon and planned to retrieve it the next morning. As fate would have it, that evening we had a severe flood in the city of North Randall, OH and the shop portion of our facility sustained minor water ingress due to seepage under our garage doors. Water rose slightly above the mid-height of the tires. As a result, the only damage to the vehicle was a small amount of water on the interior carpet. The vehicle was parked with the engine off during the small flood (no water entered the engine or transmission). There was no damage to the engine, transmission, electrical system or any other portion of the vehicle. We purchased the vehicle with 107,030 miles (see title photo). Since the flood, we changed the engine oil (just as precaution) and drove the vehicle approximately 500-miles (see photo of odometer which reads 107,501 miles; again we purchased the vehicle with 107,030 miles subsequent to the flood). The vehicle rides exceptionally well – no shakes, vibrations, rattling noises or any other annoying sounds or feelings. Very smooth ride with incomparable comfort and luxury in its class. Every option and system on the vehicle functions properly and there are no warning lights on the dash (see odometer photo). This is an excellent vehicle for a variety of needs: college student, additional family vehicle, traveling salesperson seeking to save money on gas while maintaining professional appearance with clients, etc. We are motivated to sell, hence our relatively low reserve price of $5,000 (less than half of KBB’s suggested retail price). Please call Travis at 216-926-4513 with any questions. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 1-hour of winning the auction. Purchaser is responsible for pick-up/shipping arrangements. Balance of payment and vehicle pick-up are due within three days (72 hours) of auction close. Vehicle is in North Randall, OH (an eastside suburb of Cleveland, OH) and we are confident the winning bidder can drive away in it and return to your final destination without any issues. If by chance the winning bidder hires a transporter for pick-up, our facility can accommodate all classes of transport vehicles, from flatbed tow trucks to 10-vehicle trailers hauled by a tractor. We desire to make your vehicle purchase a true pleasure and will work to accommodate your needs as much as we can so long as our previously stated stipulations are met. Thanks for your interests. Good luck bidding! Ford Recalling 70k Escape and Mariner Hybrids for cooling issue
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Ford is recalling about 70,209 examples of the 2005-2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and the 2006-2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid because the cooling pumps for their hybrid systems could fail.
According to the company's defect notice, it's possible for the original "Motor Electronics Coolant (MEC) Pump" to wear out and fail, which would could cause the hybrid system to overheat. If this happens, the vehicle goes into a safety mode that takes away most or all of its power. However, braking and steering still operate normally. After cooling down, the affected models restart normally. The company says that it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
Ford will begin repairing the vehicles in late October, and dealers will be installing improved, brushless pumps on the affected models at no charge to owners. If drivers had their pumps fail before this recall, they can contact Ford for a possible reimbursement. Scroll down to read the recall announcement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or download the full defect notice as a PDF, here.
Kit Cat: Mercury Cougar makes perfect Bugatti Veyron substitute

If you've got a pulse in your wrist and a snapping brain cell in your head, chances are you wouldn't mind parking a Bugatti Veyron in your garage. But for most mere mortals, scrounging up the cash for a physics-bending piece of 16-cylinder glory would require all sorts of unpalatable tasks. Fortunately for those who want to look the part without having to participate in human trafficking, the kit car universe has stepped in to save the day. All you need is a 1999-2002 Mercury Cougar, a boat load of fiberglass and a little patience.
Oh, and $89,000.
Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
