Wrightstown, New Jersey, United States

Vehicle has 55,000 original miles! I am the 2nd owner and have had it for almost 1 year. I purchased it from Miller Subaru on Route 38 in Mt. Holly along with another vehicle last year. This vehicle was traded in by the original owner for a new Subaru Impreza at the request of her family members to "get a new car". My wife and I saw it and thought it was so cool, like a trip back in time to the 80's. The car was 100% original equipment down to the tires! The vehicle has been completely restored. Repairs consist of over $5500 worth of work (not counting the price of the car $2800): new tires, belts, hoses, axle shafts, exhaust system, A/c compressor w/conversion kit, radiator, thermostat, engine temp sensor, valve cover gasket, oil pan gaskets for engine and transmission, all fluids flushed and cleaned (trans, engine, cooling system, power steering). Vehicle has new paint (no bondo or rust repair was needed prior too paint). Vehicle was purchased as an every day cheap driver, however we just purchased 2 new vehicles and there is no need/purpose for this now. It is a great vehicle, especially for a new driver or even for someone like me that was going to keep it for a long time (until our first child just arrived)... also the vehicle is clean and has never had an accident or flood damage. I am in no rush to sell and this is a car and the buyer will not need to repair, fix, or fear anything.

If you are the highest bidder and surpass the reserve price, I am asking for a $250 deposit within 24 hours of auction close. We will talk at auction close to discuss details of how to make the deposit, or  it can be done through PayPal if you prefer.

If you live locally and want to see the vehicle in person, just call and I will work out a time with you.

I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if it sells before auction end.

NHTSA will investigate some Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ models for power steering issue

Tue, 07 Oct 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ, the 2012 MKZ Hybrid and 2011 Mercury Milan because the agency has hundreds of complaints of electric power steering failure in these models.
According to NHTSA's data, it has received 508 complaints of the power steering allegedly suddenly malfunctioning and resulting in increased effort to turn the wheel. In four incidents, these failures resulted in loss of control and crashes. According to the reports, in some cases a power steering warning message came on as the fault occurred, and other times the system restored itself by turning off and then restarting the vehicle. NHTSA said it has also received further field report data from Ford, but that information hasn't been publicly released yet.
For the moment, there isn't a recall for this failure on these models. NHTSA is just investigating them to "assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect," and the agency says an estimated 938,000 vehicles could potentially be affected.

NHTSA closes probes on Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey

Wed, 09 Jan 2013

The Detroit News reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially closed its investigations into 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2004-2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey models. The separate probes found no issues that pose safety concerns. NHTSA began investigating certain Grand Cherokee SUVs over complaints that power steering hoses could detach during operation, thereby increasing the risk of a vehicle fire. Of the 24 reports of failure, none alleged smoke or fire in the engine bay, and Chrysler has since modified the power steering cooler assembly to reduce the likelihood of the failure.
Meanwhile, certain Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey vehicles garnered a government probe after receiving complaints that the models were equipped with faulty scissor jacks. The agency had received six reports of the jacks failing or causing injuries, including one incident that resulted in a fatality. But NHTSA says the jack failure rate is similar to those found in other vehicles. In those six cases, the government agency found the jacks were being used for something other than changing a tire, and investigators could not determine whether the emergency brake was set or the rear tires were properly chocked.

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.
