Thanks for looking at my mini. It started life as a mini 1000 but now has a bored out A+ 1275 making it a 1360 with Hypatec flat top pistons a 940 head and a 276 cam. It is equipped with a hif6 su carburetor and a full rc-40 exhaust. It has new rod shift gearbox with a 2.9 final drive ratio. Meaning you can cruise it at 80-85 all day long on the highway without the engine screaming.
The motor smokes a little when you first start it but stops once it is warm and the clutch slips a little if you get on it in 4th. The interior is all black with red seats that recline and the car has a radio and cd player. When i got the car the floors and rockers were rotting but have since been replaced and repaired. there is still some surface rust in the boot floor but nothing a wire brush and a little rustoleum couldn't fix. I have been driving the car and upgrading and repairing it for 8 years and at a few times it was my daily driver. I would not hesitate to take it on a long trip. The paint is far from perfect but it is a good looking little car. It has a disk front brake upgrade in it and all new bushings, bearings, tie rod ends, ball joints and a few goodies like adjustable ride height suspension cones, 1.5 degree camber control arms and adjustable caster angle. The suspension rebuild was done roughly a year and a half ago. The car is a blast to drive, it pulls hard in every gear and handles great. Its a nice compromise between a track and street car. If you have any specific questions please don't hesitate to ask. You can text me anytime Thanks again, Christain 732 859-4277 |

Last chance to order an R56 Mini Hardtop
Fri, 02 Aug 2013Mini will be ending custom orders of the current R56 Cooper Hardtop ahead of the retooling process for the new F56 Mini. That means owners who aren't enamored with what they've seen of the model's new look but still want a personalized version of the tossable hot hatch had best get down to their local Mini dealership and submit their order post-haste.
According to Mini enthusiast site Motoringfile, all orders must be submitted by August 28 in order to get a custom build. Orders are also locked in after that, so if you do get one of the spots, make sure you're absolutely content with the car you order. This cutoff will affect all models of the Hardtop, including the John Cooper Works model.
After August 28, owners will need to wait for the new Hardtop to arrive, which Motoringfile estimates will be in March of 2014. If you miss out on this final allocation of hardtops, all is not lost, however. Mini will still accept personalized orders on other bodystyles, which won't be replaced by F56-based models for some time.
2014 Mini Cooper goes to the dogs
Tue, 17 Dec 2013We wouldn't buy a car to make a dog happy, but Mini's latest commercial, Bullheaded, would have you believe that dogs like the new 2014 Cooper as much as humans. Regardless of the commercial's target audience (Spike The Bulldog, or his owner?), it does show a couple new tidbits about the car, such as the new center dial touchscreen, ambient lighting and the nifty tinted pop-up display on top of the dashboard that reminds us of the head-up display on the new Mazda3.
Head below to watch Spike and his owner drive the Mini in Downtown Los Angeles (and the back lots of Paramount), and to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the commercial was made.
Mini Clubman Bond Street inspired by London shopping
Sun, 27 Jan 2013Mini again plucks a London landmark as the appellation for a special edition, the Mini Clubman Bond Street joining the Mayfair and Camden, and Bayswater and Baker Street editions of the recent past. You'll recognize the formula of primary color and polished contrasting color, in this case its Midnight Black Metallic for the main event and Cool Champagne for the highlights like the roof, mirror caps and trim rings on the 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside it's Carbon Black leather set off by surfaces in Deep Champagne and the Chrome Line package.
It will premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March before going into production for a limited run that same month. Four engines will be offered, with on-the-road prices ranging from 20,275 pounds ($31,961 US) in the UK for the 122-horsepower gas engine to 24,045 pounds ($37,918 US) for the 143-horsepower SD diesel version. A press release below will tell you all you wish to know.
