2004 Mini Cooper S.

I have owned this car for 1 year and put 22k on it already!  I have been using the car as a commuter car doing 135 miles a day.  No longer going to be commuting so far, thus the reason for selling.  I avg 33mpg (75% highway driving).  The car is in immaculate condition inside and out.  It is 100% stock other than a Mini Madness Cold Air Intake.  Brand new tires on the car.  I also have an extra set of OEM wheels and snow tires to go with the car.   The car has the following options:

Leather Heated Seats
Sunroof
Xenon Headlights
Power Mirrors
Cruise Control
Steering Wheel Controls
6 Speed Manual Trans
New Tires
New wheel bearings all around - Done 5k Miles ago
New Struts
35% Tint
iPod / iPhone Auxiliary Hook Up.  Really nice when you want to listen to your own music !!!!

Please feel free to contact me for more information.  I drove about 10 Mini Coopers before purchasing this one, and this car was by far cosmetically, and mechanically above and beyond the others.  Hate to see her go! Title in Hand.

**FYI the first offer on the car was declined due to a scammer**

Production Mini Rocketman still in the cards, but not without a partner

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

There's not really any way around it - the new Mini Hardtop isn't all that mini. Considering its supposed to be the smallest model in the brand's lineup, this is hardly desirable. It's good news, then, that rumors are cropping up of a smaller Mini, based on the well-received Rocketman Concept that debuted in 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The report, which comes from our friends at AutoGuide, claims that a production Rocketman is still on the radar of Mini's product chief, Pat McKenna, despite being officially on hold. As Mckenna explained it to AG, "the only way it would happen would be if it was a partnership with another company."
See, the problem is that Mini's current UKL platform, which underpins the new Hardtop along with the future Mini range, is too large for the tiny Rocketman. And since developing new platforms isn't as easy as popping down to the shops for a gallon of milk (nor as cheap), it makes the need for an ally to split the costs a necessity. Success, so far, has been limited.

2015 Mini Cooper stuns crowd, itself [w/videos]

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

Remember the Mini Rocketman concept from 2011? While we were really, really hoping for a production version - a properly mini Mini - that never happened. And it won't. But what we are getting is a whole lot of that showcar's styling cues applied to the third-generation Mini Cooper hardtop, a model making its debut here at the LA Auto Show. And while from most angles, the new Mini is as cute as ever, we just can't quite warm up to that face - or that huge front overhang. The car simply looks like a frightened goldfish (that yellow paint isn't helping, either).
The car simply looks like a frightened goldfish (that yellow paint isn't helping, either).
It should probably be pretty nice to drive, though, with the base Cooper using a new turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine good for 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Friskier Cooper S models get a healthy power increase, their 2.0-liter turbo engines putting out a full 189 hp and 207 lb-ft, with both engines are mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Mini fesses up to Countryman clutch issue, plans fix

Sat, 10 Nov 2012

Aside from the general lack of snow in the Midwest earlier this year that hampered our ability to properly play with our Blizzak-equipped Mini Contryman long-term test vehicle, the biggest problem we had with this crossover during the year we spent with it was the transmission. On four different monthly updates (September, October, November and June), all in the hands of different Autoblog editors, the Countryman's clutch was called out for being too finicky, leading to many stall outs. Apparently, we weren't alone in our assessment of the Countryman's clutch woes.
According to MotoringFile, Mini has updated the Countryman with a different clutch material and improved software. This much-needed change is being implemented starting this month, but Mini hasn't said what it is doing about existing 2011 and 2012 Countryman models that are afflicted with this problem.
Head over to MotoringFile to see the full official statement from Mini USA on this issue.
