1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST. 2.0 DOHC 4cyl with turbo, 5 speed manual trans, tilt, cruise, A/C, pwr windows, interval wiper's including rear window, pop up sun roof, CD player with extra amp and large speaker in the trunk, grey cloth interior, just under 154,000 miles. K&N air filter. Car has 18" ICW rim's and tires are very good. Car runs, drives, and handles very good. Interior is in very good condition. All light's and gauges work as they should, except for one of the aftermarket fog lights. I would replace both, if I were you. The power door locks are not presently working. They are strange, worked for a few months then stopped. Car has an aftermarket VIPER alarm system that works but of course, the remote will not lock or unlock the doors. I had windows professionally tinted back in 2000 so you can imagine, they do not look very good now. I tried to carefully remove it from the rear window, and still apparently damaged the electric defroster. New battery, new belt's, new clutch slave cylinder, had coolant flushed and filled this week. The aftermarket horn sucks! I got an "extra loud" one and it makes a squeak sound. Just passed inspection in August, the man said as long as he can hear it, and he did. I broke the stock front bumper when a ramp I was backing off of, after changing the oil, broke. I ordered the one thats on it on eBay. It's the "Blitz" style. The body is in great shape, except for this small part of the side skirt, behind the right front wheel. I broke it and a new OEM part is around $80. If I were you, I'd order some "Blitz" style side skirts. If you saw the 1st Fast & Furious movie, the green Eclipse had "Blitz" ground effects. Oh, the back hatch supports ( shocks ) whatever they are called, usually will not hold it up. You can replace them or use a yard stick like I do, lol. I cant think of anything else to tell you. I know of no major issues, and I would drive it anywhere. PS .. the car is dirty in all the picture's I took today. Reason for selling? - I'm 61, semi-retired, tired of shifting gears, and cant afford to make it the killer car it could be. I would consider a trade for something that's not a sports car, and has an auto trans. That could be anything from a truck to a Crown Victoria. Dont have to be pretty but dependable. Text me or leave message at 704-500-1324. I'll get back with you. No shipping. Local pick up.
Thanks

This Mitsubishi dealer's rap ad is so bad it's awesome

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

Sometimes you stumble upon something online that is so incredibly, bad that there is actually something great about. With that in mind, Southside Mitsubishi in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, might have created one of the worst/best automotive raps we've ever seen.
While there is no way the dealership went into this video thinking it would actually be good, it's hard to imagine it could have ended up so incredibly cheesy. Whether it's the frontman who looks like Vladimir Putin on his worst day ever, the extras who clearly don't want to be there or the inexplicable reference to that Baha Men classic, "Who Let The Dogs Out?" this video is a black hole of suffering - there is no escape. We knew things were bad at Mitsubishi, and man, this isn't helping.
Scroll down to inflict this awful awesomeness on yourself, and remind yourself of the infamous Swagger Wagon from Toyota to see that not all ironic automotive rapping has to be painful.

2014 Mitsubishi Lancer to shrink

Wed, 24 Oct 2012

The aging, oft-forgotten Mitsubishi Lancer won't get a replacement until sometime in 2014, but a new report states that the next-generation model could be a relatively drastic departure from the car you see here. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President Osamu Masuko told Australian site The Motor Report that the new Lancer will be smaller than the current car, going in a different direction than the vast majority of other automakers.
"The new Lancer will be a very new car, and will be sized somewhere between the current model and its predecessor," Masuko-san told The Motor Report.
There are both pros and cons to this decision. On the plus side, a smaller car means the Lancer will likely have a weight advantage over other vehicles in its class. That said, Mitsubishi will need to find ways to maximize interior space and create efficient packaging in order to still have its compact sedan remain competitive with strong offerings like the Hyundai Elantra, Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus and so on.

Mitsubishi Mirage will launch in US with three-cylinder engine [w/video]

Wed, 26 Dec 2012

We have a date with Mitsubishi Mirage (again). The Japanese subcompact is slated to arrive on our shores in September 2013, and it's one of the product offerings meant to help Mitsubishi's US arm raise sales in its next financial year from 55,000 to 80,000. If next year were 1989, we'd say there's no reason that couldn't happen, but from what we've seen, the Mirage is so magnificently meek (have you seen the interior?) that we aren't sure how it will manage that kind of US sales aggression in the 21st century.
Continuing that theme, Car and Driver reports that the Mitsu will launch here with a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder engine. Make no mistake, this is a very popular engine in the Mirage and responsible for its excellent fuel economy. The hatch is doing so well in other markets with its two naturally aspirated tri-cylinders that the Thailand facility that builds the Mirage will have its capacity increased by 33 percent to try and meet demand. In European spec, the 845-kilogram (1,859 pounds) subcompact with the more powerful engine offering 79 horsepower and 78 pound-feet of torque gets 57.3 miles per US gallon and takes 11.7 seconds to get from zero to 62 miles per hour. The question is whether Mitsubishi will boost the output of that engine for our market. If not, only the 70-hp Smart ForTwo will have less horsepower - but the Mirage, interestingly enough, weighs about the same as the microcar.
On its UK site, Mitsubishi said the reveal of the Mirage in back 2011 meant "redefining the standards by which to judge a compact passenger car." We can't wait to find out if that's still true and what that means when it gets here. To prepare yourself, there's video of the Mirage in action below.
