1998 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE RS 2-DOOR HATCHBACK COUPE

SUPER SEXY, FUN AND FAST
WOULD MAKE AN EXCELLENT FIRST CAR

This is an amazing sports car that is super sexy, fun and very fast!
Outstanding condition with no engine/transmission or mechanical issues...

INTERIOR:
Very nice condition. No tears, rips or damage
Working CD player that lights up and changes colors when in use
Heavy duty, factory ordered floor mats (Not cheap)
AC and heat work like brand new. Car warms up and cools very quickly
No ventilation or defrost issues
Working sunroof (Needs a little WD-40 in the track every couple of months)
I am a non-smoker, so the fabric is free of smell and burns
No pets were ever in the vehicle
Speedometer/odometer both work
turn signals work

EXTERIOR:
Newly installed Billet Grill and Halo Projector Headlights for an updated look (Both purchased from Octane Motor Sports)
Due to the quality and style of the headlamps, the bulbs can be a little pricey if replacement is needed ($80 for the pair)
No major visible body damage such as scratches or dents.
Keep in mind that the vehicle does have some extremely small imperfections due to age and I do stress SMALL.
Headlights/tail lights work
Break lights and parking lights work

MAINTENANCE:
Consistent and regular oil changes were always done on or before scheduled date
Rotors and ball joints have been replaced
Recent tune up and spark plug replacement
All documents for maintenance can be obtained and provided if requested

I have decided to put this car up for auction due to preparing for a baby. It's time to trade in the FUN car for a MOMMY one.
This car is not suitable nor does it have the space to accommodate a child.
Great care was taken in maintaining the vehicle.
The only issue is that the windshield washer solvent line is clogged ( not an expensive project)
If you like attention and fast cars, then you will love this sexy ride.
Acceleration is very fast and smooth.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.

Limited-edition Mitsubishi 311RS Evo X coming to Minneapolis Auto Show [w/video]

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

It's not terribly often that we have news to report coming out ahead of the Minneapolis Auto Show. We say that not to disparage the Twin Cities, which are lovely, but new product reveals are few and far between for the show. This year, however, it seems that event will play host to the debut of a rather special limited edition Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Though not coming directly from the Mitsu factory, we think the 311RS shows loads of potential for Evo fanatics.
The 311RS is the brainchild of circuit racer Ryan Gates, who has apparently spent the last three years developing what he believes is an Evo perfect for both racing and road driving. Starting life as a bog-standard Evo X, the Gates team has swapped out the factory intake, intercooler and exhaust system for more potent AMS pieces; resulting in output figures of 353 horsepower and nearly 359 pound-feet of torque. A new suspension from JRZ, brakes from Girodisc and 18-inch custom Rays wheels shod with high-performance Nitto tires represent significant updates to the underpinnings, as well.
Of course, the 311RS is also rocking a full body kit, too, with a more aggressive front air dam and a subtle lip added on to the stock rear wing. The blue and white racing livery, with matching blue wheels, looks racy without being too childish, we think.

Race Recap: 2014 Pikes Peak Hill Climb

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

The weather didn't interrupt the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this year, the sun staying out to shine throughout a mildly cloudy day. The crowds didn't interrupt the race, either. Last year there were incidents like the woman who leaned so far into the road that her camera tore a hole in a speeding Shelby Cobra and she had to be sent to the hospital. This year the organizers shrank the number of spectator viewing areas and put others behind fences, such that long stretches of the route were uninhabited by anything other than varmints.
The only unexpected visitor was a dusty track and what some competitors said were slightly higher temperatures that changed the amount of grip and increased times. Yet the calm let a couple of teams, like that sun, break through the clouds of past misfortune and claim victories they'd been targeting for years.
