Looking to sell my 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS.
extras: - Short shift manual Transmission - white pearlescent custom paint job with what used to be red stripes (faded to almost a pink color) on the front corner panels - lowered - driver's side racing seat - aftermarket exhaust and intake - aftermarket tail lights - halo projection headlights. Engine was swapped out and new one has 30k on it. Has power windows, locks, moon roof, and antenna. Leather Interior. Just got it out of the shop, new battery, new computer, all circuits have been traced and car is running in great condition. While it was in the shop, I ended up buying a more practical vehicle so I now have no use for it as much as I'd like to keep it. Mitsubishi mulling Mirage sedan for US [w/videos]
Tue, 15 Oct 2013
Mitsubishi is bringing the Mirage hatchback to the US this fall, carrying a price tag of $12,995, not including the $725 destination charge. Mitsunori Kitao, COO of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Co., says that the Japanese automaker might consider releasing the sedan version of the Thailand-built compact - called the Attrage in Thailand and the Mirage G4 in the Phillipines - if the little hatchback takes off in the US market, Automotive News reports.
Weight is a key concern with importing the sedan. The non-US Mirage hatchback weighs just 1,900 pounds, but its naturally aspirated 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine makes just 79 horsepower and 78 pound-feet of torque, which can only manage a 0-62 miles-per-hour time of 11.2 seconds. The heavier sedan would take even longer.
Mitsubishi celebrates 30th anniversary in US with Outlander Sport Limited Edition
Thu, 29 Nov 2012The hurrah of the last kind for the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is this Limited Edition that celebrates 30 years of Mitsubishi Motors in North America. Built in North America as well, the 2013 Outlander Sport Limited Edition gets numerous black trim pieces outside, such as the center bumper, side mirror housings, wheel arch trim and skirting and roof rails. It sits on special Argent wheels.
Open the doors and the darkness continues with available Dove Grey and Black leather seating, and black leather parking brake sleeve, all accented by aluminum brake and accelerator pedals. On this model the six-way power driver's seat is standard. The sole performance mod is a new balancer shaft that makes for quicker acceleration without any penalty in the mileage rating.
You can start saying goodbye to this generation of the Outlander Sport in the high-res gallery above, and read more about it in the press release below.
The 100,000th EV sold in the US is... a Mitsubishi i-MiEV
Fri, 12 Jul 2013The news here isn't that 100,000 EVs have been sold in the US, although that's quite the accomplishment. It's that the 100,000th car is a Mitsubishi i-MiEV - a car that takes nearly a full day to recharge on a standard outlet and can only travel about 62 miles per charge (according to the car's Monroney).
Jabs at the Mitsubishi aside, the fact that US dealers have moved 100,000 electric cars is made more impressive in that it's only been done since the latest generation of EVs arrived, typified by the Nissan Leaf, Ford Focus Electric and aforementioned i-MiEV. Chronologically, that means roughly the last two years. It's a number that we can only expect to climb, as EVs gain a stronger foothold among manufacturers and consumers.
Plug In America, an EV advocacy group, crunched the numbers for a contest called #PIA100K, to find the lucky buyer, who would be given a ClipperCreek Level 2 charger (which takes the i-MiEV's recharge time down to just seven hours). The winner, Rich Salmon of Grand Bay, Alabama, picked up his i-MiEV from Pete Moore Mitsubishi.
