FOR SALE: 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T (2nd generation) - $3000 OBO (Westchester/NYC, NY) 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T (2nd generation) Exterior: Kalpana Black Interior: Tan/Beige 68,xxx miles Automatic Transmission Leather seats Sunroof 16" Stock Chrome Wheels Spoiler Multi-Lock security device. Disc Changer Tein Adjustable Coil Over Suspension I am only the 2nd owner. No accidents, clean title in hand with no issues. Low mileage w/ only 68k miles. No major mods or upgrades so not abused. I believe the car had every possible option installed for the GS-T (turbo model). One of the stock struts leaked so I used that as an opportunity to upgrade to a full Tien adjustable coil over system. As described in the condition section, the car is currently not running. It was stationary for over a year while I had to travel to the west coast for work. When I came back it would not start and not really sure why. I tried a known working battery but that did not help. I'm convinced the problem is with the starting system but I'm not really sure. Body is free from any major dents but there are a few small dings. There is some paint fade on the roof and small area on the hood from sitting in the sun. When the car was running it had good pull, especially when the turbo spooled and kicked in. She was a ton of fun to drive and have great memories with her. I am moving to the west coast permanently so need to sell this car while I am back here in NY. I was told that the 4G63T engine in this car (same as the original Mitsubishi Evolution) was popular and that there might be interest in a car with such low mileage. I figured I would post it for sale here to see if there is any interest. It would be nice to know that she will go somewhere and get fixed up and be well taken care of. I need to have the car removed in the a couple of weeks so if there is no interest I will be forced to donate it for a tax write off. Please note that the car will need to be picked up and towed away. If you are out of town and want it shipped you will need to coordinate the details although I will help in any way that I can.

Mitsubishi readies trio of hybrid utility concepts for Tokyo
Fri, 01 Nov 2013Mitsubishi has announced a trio of concept cars it will bring to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, set to kick off later this month. The three concepts all sport new, edgy styling that is quite a departure from the Mitsus we see here in the states.
First up, we have the Concept GC-PHEV, which we're guessing is the middle vehicle in the photograph up top, as it's supposed to be a larger SUV - think Outlander for this one. From a powertrain standpoint, it sounds quite impressive. A 3.0-liter, supercharged, MIVEC V6 syncs up with an electric motor and a plug-in battery pack, while an an eight-speed automatic transmission dispatches power to all four wheels.
Next, we have the Concept XR-PHEV. We're taking a step down from the GC here, as the XR is meant to compete in the compact-crossover market, which means this could pre-sage the next Outlander Sport. Like the GC, though, it takes advantage of a hybrid powertrain, with a turbocharged, 1.1-liter direct-injection engine providing the grunt. The front-driver also sports a lightweight motor and battery, although specific details about both are scarce. We're thinking the XR-PHEV is the smaller, red vehicle on the right of the image up top.
2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport models with leather seats recalled over airbag fears
Tue, 25 Feb 2014Mitsubishi is recalling 733 of its 2013 Outlander Sports that were fitted with leather seat covers due to problems with the seat-mounted airbags. Apparently, the wiring for the airbags may have been routed incorrectly when the seat covers were installed at the port.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bulletin, the issue only really crops up if owners adjust the height of the seats. Naturally, if the seat wiring is damaged, the airbag may not deploy in the event of a side impact.
The affected vehicles were all manufactured between July 20, 2012 and May 29, 2013. There have been no reported injuries or accidents due to this issue. Mitsubishi, meanwhile, will begin notifying owners, who will need to report to their local dealer for free inspections or repairs. Take a look below for the bulletin from NHTSA.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution recalled over clutch woes
Fri, 25 Oct 2013Mitsubishi will be recalling over 10,000 Lancer Evolutions built between December 12, 2007 and March 5, 2013, covering model years 2008 to 2013. The recall only affects cars with manual transmissions, though, so if you opted for a Lancer Evo with a quick-shifting SST, this recall doesn't apply to you.
If you're one of the 10,474 people that has a Lancer Evo X GSR, which is the only way into a manual-trans Evo X, you need to plan a trip to your local dealer. The recall relates to a failure in the clutch master cylinder, making shifting in and out of gear difficult. Consequently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that this could increase the odds of crashing.
Mitsu will notify owners of the affected cars, and these Evo models will be repaired, free of charge, at dealerships. The recall is slated to begin around November 11. Scroll down for the full bulletin from the NHTSA.
