2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gt Coupe 2-door 3.0l - Super Quick - No Reserve!!! on 2040-cars

Year:2000 Mileage:185718
Location:

Davidsonville, Maryland, United States

Davidsonville, Maryland, United States

Welcome to my 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT.  It has 185k primarily highway miles. The previous owner drove 100 miles to and from work daily. Timing belt was replaced at 120k miles (per previous owner.) The engine is very strong! This car runs like a bat-out-of-hell!! It has never been modified. It has all of the quickness and performance you would expect of a sports car. It has fresh oil and runs very smoothly.  The clutch is also solid - shifting through all 5 gears without issue. All power options – radio, locks, windows, etc. - function properly.  A/C blows cold. The paint is in excellent condition. The vehicle was garage kept throughout ownership. There are minimal dents, dings, or scratches to mention. The interior is in really good condition with little signs of wear on the seats. Overall, the carpet is in in great shape for the exception of the driver's side (expected for a manual transmission.)  The rims are the upgraded alloy factory type - with no road rash. The tires have plenty of tread and should carry through any inspection. This car is in extremely good condition regardless of the miles and will provide years of reliability.

Mechanical issues to address:  The sunroof doesn't work. The motor functions but it will not open. Also, the valve cover gasket should probably be replaced.

This vehicle is being offered for sale “AS-IS” because of year and miles.  If you are new to Ebay or if you have fewer than 4 transactions, please contact me prior to bidding for approval to bid or I will cancel your bid immediately.  There is a $125 documentation fee in addition to the final selling price.  A $500 non-refundable deposit is required via Paypal within 48 hours of auction close.  Transaction must be completed within 7 days of auction end (full payment and pick-up arrangements at least).  I have done my best to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible.  Once purchased, this car can be driven anywhere in the country without issue.  For those of you who are not local, BWI is the closest airport to my location. Contact me via email with any questions.  Please bid with confidence and good luck.

Mitsubishi previews diesel hybrid pickup concept, next-gen EV for Geneva

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Mitsubishi has a long history of tidy little pickup trucks, and the Japanese automaker is apparently looking to extend that heritage in a bolder, bigger way with the Concept GR-HEV, a "sport utility hybrid truck."
The future-think show star, slated to be unveiled at next month's Geneva Motor Show, is actually tipped to be a much larger effort - Mitsubishi says it's applying its hybrid technology to a one-ton truck for the first time. The GR-HEV is powered by a complex powertrain composed of a diesel engine and electric motors, which the company believes is better suited to the sort of heavy-duty work required in the segment. The concept also employs full-time four-wheel drive and a development of Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control system (which governs things like stability and brake force control along with an active center differential) as seen on the production Lancer Evolution.
In related news, Mitsubishi has also confirmed that it will show a next-generation electric showcar at Geneva dubbed Concept CA-MiEV. With this new concept (inset photo), the company says it is looking to build on the learnings of its i citycar and take EVs out of their limited urban roles. To that end, the CA-MiEV boasts "next generation EV systems and high density batteries" that give it a range of 186 miles.

2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR

Quick Corners And Long Goodbyes
Editor's Note: While driving the Mitsubishi Evolution in the slush and snow of a Michigan winter is a fine enterprise, photographing it in such conditions is usually not fruitful. That's why you'll notice a slight disparity between our wintry text and sunny, California-based photographs of the subject car. Rest assured, both the review vehicle and the photo car are of the same basic Evo GSR flavor.
It was a dreary, gray, barely sufferable winter morning in Ann Arbor, MI. Temperatures hovering just over 30 degrees allowed for snow or rain or some combination thereof at a moment's notice, and the thickly clouded sky hinted at dark secrets while promising nothing. I've never been a rally driver but I couldn't help but feel that this murky, imprecise day was good winter rally weather. I'll admit: I don't usually wake up and look out the window to judge which kind of racing would be best just then, but the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR delivered to my house the day before was coloring the mood of the hour; most of my thoughts ran to where I was going to drive it, when, and how fast.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
