Newington, Georgia, United States

This is not a show car.  It was built as a dependable weekend warrior/track car.  Would be perfect for someone looking for a reliable track car or for someone planning an RB conversion on a similar 240SX.  All parts should swap over easily.  The car was a repo that I purchased from a title pawn shop in December 2009.  There is an odometer discrepancy reported on the title.  I have the title in hand.  It has been driven approx 10k miles since RB conversion and approx 2k miles since the turbo upgrade.

R33 RB25det conversion (about 60k miles on eng/trans when installed).  328 rwhp, 297 rwftlb @ 12psi (have a dyno chart on request).

  • Garrett GT3071r w/t3 5 bolt .82 a/r turbine - full boost @ 3k rpm,
  • ported internal WG with no boost creep,
  • Turbosmart manual boost controller,
  • FMIC,
  • Haltech Platinum Pro ECM,
  • AEM a/f gauge,
  • GM LS coils,
  • Walbro 255 LPH pump,
  • all A/C components except compressor,
  • Apexi Noir exhaust,
  • custom engine mounts allowing use of stock clutch fan - no overheating issues.  Even in south GA summer,
  • Fidanza Al flywheel,
  • Centerforce DF clutch (needs to be replaced but is still drivable).

Suspension

  • custom Driveshaft Shop driveshaft,
  • JDM S14 VLSD,
  • R33 Skyline GTS-t front brakes,
  • Energy Suspension bushings (front, rear, diff, rear k member),
  • New tie rod ends and ball joints,
  • KYB GR-2 shocks,
  • 16x8 Mustang Cobra R replica wheels,
  • new Goodyear 225/50R16 tires.

Interior

  • Clarion CD w/ Bluetooth, USB and powered sub,
  • New carpet (needs finish trimming) and headliner material.

I will not end this auction early or share the reserve price.  It's not a big number, about a third of what I have spent building this car.

Will Nissan's Cummins deal upset Ram's marketing mojo? [w/poll]

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Ram has used Cummins engines in its heavy duty trucks since 1989, and it is the only pickup truck brand to use products from the Indiana-based engine maker. With the announcement that the next Nissan Titan will also use a Cummins powerplant, and a Nissan spokesman having already said "We will definitely leverage the Cummins brand name," a piece in Automotive News wonders whether the deal will affect the way Ram markets its tie-up with Cummins.
The question really is, how intense is this competition? While it is the first time that trucks from two different brands have used Cummins engines, they'll be two different engines in two different kinds of trucks; Nissan is going to put a 5.0-liter turbodiesel in a non-heavy-duty Titan, Ram only uses its 6.7-liter, inline six-cylinder turbodiesel in heavy-duty offerings. The diesel that Ram will offer in its light-duty, half-ton 1500 is a 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel with 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque - compared to about 300 hp and 550 lb-ft expected from the Titan's Cummins - and its marketing so far has focused on the fuel economy gains.
If Nissan was going to prove its commitment to the segment, it had to do something compelling. If we're talking about sales competition between Ram and Nissan, Ram has sold 201,633 trucks as of July this year, up 24.2 percent, 31,314 of those sales coming last month; Nissan has sold 10,020 Titans through the end of July, down 21.1 percent, and just 1,168 in July itself. Nissan's new truck boss - who hopped there from Ram - said that buyers have asked for a powerful turbodiesel in something other than a heavy duty pickup, and from what we've read on various comment boards, the pickup truck crowd is excited about Nissan's move.

Updated Nissan Micra gets fresh look, more tech and 'New' name

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

A few months ago, Nissan gave the Micra (which is not for US consumption) a substantial styling update that included new front and rear fascias, and stuffed more technology into the interior, such as USB ports and auxiliary inputs for audio and a new media touchscreen. Though it's still based on the same fourth-generation architecture, Nissan now calls it the New Micra.
Overall the New Micra - also known as March in some markets - looks similar to but more taut than the vehicle that launched in late 2010, thanks to more angular headlights, a new bumper, a sculpted hood and a revised grille with the Nissan logo sitting inside a chrome V, which establishes a stronger link to Nissan's "corporate look." The rear end receives less-drastic changes, such as a new bumper, LED taillamps and a new infill panel at the bottom of the tailgate.
For all of the details on Nissan's five-door city car, take a look at the press release below, and be sure to check out our live gallery from Frankfurt.

Nissan recalling 2012-14 Frontier pickups over fire risk

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

Nissan is recalling its Frontier pickup over fire concerns, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bulletin. A total of 13,535 vehicles are being recalled, all from the 2012 to 2014 model years, built between November 28, 2012 and December 27, 2013.
The NHTSA report states that "in the affected vehicles, a circuit breaker may have been installed incorrectly causing the main wire harness connected to the circuit breaker to face outward, potentially contacting a metal bolt located on the A-pillar." If this happens, it's possible that "the bolt may wear though the wire harness covering, resulting in an electrical short," NHTSA states. In the event of an electric short, a fire may occur.
The official recall will begin in March, where Nissan dealers will inspect the circuit breaker for the correct orientation, and if necessary, repair the vehicles, free of charge. Scroll down for the full NHTSA bulletin.
