1) Blacked out - windows and lights are tinted.

2) Tenzo R 19" wheels (~$1000 if new).

3) Fujita F5 cold air induction (~$300 if new).

4) Cat Back exhaust - throaty, not too loud not too quite. Does not sound like a bumble bee. I'm not sure of the brand. A guess would be ProTuningLab. (~$600 if new)

5) Eibach front upper control arms allows full caster and camber adjustment (freshly aligned) (~$680 if new).

6) Kenwood DDX514 deck with iPod/iPhone hook-up. (~$500 if new)

7) Homelink rear view mirror, cruise control and traction control.

8) 60,000 mile service completed (Firestone) including new belts and battery.

9) 306+ HP.

The title is clean and I have a loan/lien on it.

Front tires are Dunlop Direzza 245/35R19 89W and have a lot of tread life (see picture).

Rear tires are Yokahama S-Drive 275/35R19 96Y - my guess is about 5000 miles life left on them (see picture).

There is  a small scuff on the glove box above the stereo deck (see picture)

There are stone chips on the front fascia. I would consider normal wear and tear for the age and mileage on the car.

There are two very small dents on the driver's side front door. Should be very easy to fix (pull out). I took a picture but you can't see the dents.

There is a paint bubble that is about 10mm in diameter on the hatch lid (see picture).

I have not seen the CarFax report, but was told by the previous owner that the "accident" was a shopping cart hitting the passenger side door and that the door skin has been replaced.

The low tire pressure indicator light is on. None of the tires have a slow leak so the indicator light either needs reset or one of the indicators is bad.

My price justification is as follows:

Kelley Blue Book classification is "very good" ($14650) + half the cost of all of the above mentioned upgrades which does not include the installation cost or the window/light tinting ($1540) minus installation of one tire pressure sensor ($120) = $16070.00

Nissan alters all CVTs to act less like a stretched rubberband

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Among automotive enthusiasts, no one seems to hold a neutral opinion when it comes to continuously variable transmissions. CVTs are either praised for their ability to boost fuel economy or chided for their occasionally poor driving dynamics. Nissan is among the masters of these un-shifting gearboxes in the US, and it uses them in many vehicles in its lineup. However, for the 2015 model year, several models are getting a software update to make their CVTs a bit more like a conventional automatic.
To give drivers the option of feeling gearshifts while on the road, Nissan is adding its D-Step Shift Logic feature to the CVTs in multiple vehicles. Steve Powers, Nissan's senior manager of powertrain performance, told Autoblog the system forces the transmission to "hold a ratio and then shift" to simulate the way that a traditional automatic would. It's simply a change in software, but the company "can't do it to older CVTs," he said, because it would require changes to transmission logic, as well. According to Automotive News, the upgrade is coming to the 2015 Versa, Versa Note (pictured above), Sentra, V6-equipped Altima, Pathfinder and Quest. "We're rolling it out to all programs," said Powers.
Interestingly, buyer perception appears to be pushing the upgrade. John Curl, a Nissan North America regional product manager, told Automotive News that the decision to add the tech partially comes because some owners are bothered that the CVTs aren't changing gears. According to Powers, D-Step "avoids the rubber band feel," that many drivers didn't like. The different sensation of these transmissions seems like something consumers would notice during the test drive, or that the salesperson would inform them about. The same issue cropped up last year when the company was facing customer satisfaction problems among new buyers customers' unfamiliarity with the gearboxes.

Nissan ZEOD RC on track and from behind the wheel

Wed, 17 Sep 2014

The Nissan ZEOD RC hybrid racecar has had mixed success in its competition life. It was invented to do a completely electric, high-speed lap at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which it was able to do in practice. However, when the big event actually came, the car lasted less than an hour before it had to bow out with transmission issues. Nissan hasn't completely given up on its experiment, though. The experience (and possibly some of the tech) is going to help with the GT-R LM racer next year, and now the ZEOD is getting its chance to see how it handles the Top Gear test track.
Unfortunately, it's not The Stig piloting the ZEOD; instead, the magazine's motoring editor Ollie Marriage is the lucky man for the job. The car's sharp shape seems to be a good metaphor for how it handles because it just seems to dart around the track. Its tiny, turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with 400 horsepower and two electric motors put out a claimed 750 horsepower, and that seems like plenty for the relatively short Top Gear course.
As usual of Top Gear, the cinematography here is fantastic, and a second video shows off a single lap of the course from around the car. It's amazing to watch, especially with its big screen constantly showing the camera view out of the rear. Scroll down to see both.

Nissan Micra gets fresh new look [w/video]

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Nissan has given its popular Micra a substantial refresh. Completely revised fascias front and rear join small sheetmetal tweaks for an all-new look, and Nissan says buyers can expect to find a host of new technology indoors. That includes audio USB and AUX-in slots as well as a new audio and touchscreen navigation system with a larger display. Designers have also graced the model - known in some markets as the Nissan March - with a revised center console and new trim indoors. Be still our beating hearts.
Under the hood, a supercharged, direct-injection 1.2-liter gasoline three-cylinder engine continues to produce 97 horsepower, complete with a stop/start system that Nissan says helps make this powertrain one of the most efficient in the world. Buyers can also opt for diesel and non-supercharged engines if they so choose.
While periodically rumored, Nissan has no plans to bring the model to North America, but with sales in 56 nations and assembly in four different countries, the little Micra remains a big deal worldwide. You can check out an official video and press release below for more information.
