Always Garage Kept

This is my personal car that I bought approximately in 1992 as a 1-owner new car trade in. It is a very nice car that mostly sits in the garage and only comes out on nice days for little cruises when time allows. It is not perfect but it is VERY nice or I wouldn't waste our time saying so.

I have kept this car under cover and inside my garage since day one while I drove a company car, so the mileage is very very low for this year vehicle. It has been taken care of and whatever needed fixed was or replaced. All the little things that go wrong have been replaced.

The tires are like new, it has a new battery. In 1996 at around 80,000 miles I had the transmission professional rebuilt after getting caught out in a surprised snow storm and I messed it up getting out of a snow/ice rut on the city street. A couple years ago I had it professionally painted the original Oldsmobile color by The Amazing Ater, a custom painter who made it better then new! The interior is great and all the digital dash works fine. The A/C was professional converted over to R-134. Everything seems to be working fine, but to be honest I have only drove it this year for these photos. It has dark tinted windows. Gas mileage runs around mid to high 20's.

The 3800 V-6 engine is awesome, the trans is perfectly smooth and no leaks anywhere. This is the top of the line for this model and it can be driven as a luxury car or fast as lighting. The dual exhaust is quiet but can have a real nice throaty sound when you push it. The perforated leather 6-way seats also have power upper and lower support which makes the ride perfect for everyone up front. This is a REAL nice car, I just don't use it and who ever buys it will know right away what I am saying here and more.

Also, I have done nothing to spruce it up or wipe shiney stuff on any of it. It came out of the garage for pics and right back inside. It just doesn't get used and I can use the space so it its for sale now.

* * Special Note * *

I have lots more photos if you are interested, Im just saving money here listing only four. This photo doesn't show it but the engine compartment is as they say, clean enough to eat off of. Please just ask and I will send whatever you ask for.

We all know buying a car online is not easy, but in this case do not worry. If its not what I said here and more, you do not have to take it. But the $200 deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE to help pay for eBay fee's and my time. Hopefully, this will keep down the people with buyers remorse or those who don't mind wasting everybody's and eBays time. Please don't.

What I do know is wrong if you can call it that, is the leather steering wheel could use some conditioner rubbed on it, the drivers power window works but is a tad bit slow and there "might" be a very small tiny hardly noticeable ding or two somewhere around the bottom from some irresponsible parker. Whatever is not perfect is so very slight to be hardly noticeable anyway. I'm trying to give the best description as possible. Not museum quality but real real nice!!!!

I will consider offers but PLEASE do not waste our time attempting to low ball me, its not costing me anything and I love the car anyway. IF YOU want a very nice, loaded, great running, quick and great looking car this is it. It turns heads everywhere I go.

Please check my feedback and know that this auction is written as complete and honest as possible. The vehicle is in really great shape, never abused, all you need is gas.

My car is also being offered locally so if does sell before the auction ends with no bids, I will delete this auction.

It can be picked up after paid in cash or a verifiable bank check has cleared. I will work with anyone who makes their own transportation arrangements, and I might even be able to drive it south on I-65, maybe as far as Elizabeth Town, KY to help out with meeting for delivery?  If so cash will be required. Otherwise it can be picked up here in Indianapolis.

No Reserve and it is a GREAT car for this money regardless of any book prices.

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?

Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.
