I have listed for auction my 1967 Plymouth Valiant 2 door post sedan. This car came with the 225 slant six and 3speed on the tree. I have owned this car for close to 10 years, bought it in Tennessee and have gradually made improvements through the years. I have not driven the car more then a few hundred miles since I've owned it, so it will need to be trailered or shipped to it's destination. This car starts and drives but seems to get carburetor heat soak and won't idle when warmed up. The issues that I know of are the following: 1) driver front frame rail is a little soft but still repairable (I have one picture that shows it) 2) The power steering pump is leaking a little.3) The speedometer is not working .4) The front end needs an alignment. 5) The car came with a 1968 front grill but I have a 1967 front end that will go with the car. The following are improvements that have been made over the years: 1969 340, with 30 over TRW forged pistons, J heads with stainless 2.02-1.60 valves, new Comp Magnum (CCA-20-232-4) cam, hydraulic lifters and springs, new Clevite 77 main and rod bearings, new Stealth (WND-8022) Mnfld., rebuilt Edlebrock 750, new Pertronix II Billet Dist. new Champion 3 core radiator, new master cylinder/ power booster, new Hurst Comp Plus shifter adapted to the Inland shift handle, heavyduty shift rods, front disc brakes and drum rears, 14"x6" ralley wheels with center caps and new after market beauty rings, all new front end bushings, new balanced drive shaft, new clutch and bearing, new Grant streeing wheel, new front tinted windshield and (front and rear gaskets ), new headliner, carpet, seat upholstery, floor insulation, both front and rear floors were replaced and 4 speed tunnel installed, new frame connecters, new fuel tank and pickup, new doors and trunk weather gaskets, new window felts, new door handles and I'm sure there are other items that I can't recall. The car is a 4-speed with an 8 3/4 -posi, (742 housing), new axles and green bearings and 3.23 gears. The paint was done about 2 1/2 years ago and has a few small chips but is still very preasentable. This car is a nice driver that has a lot of potential. I hope that it finds a new home with someone who will take it to the next level. This car is being sold "AS IS AND NO WARRANTY" so please study the pictures before bidding. I'm reserving the right to end this auction early (ahead of the reserve being met) because this car will be for sale locally. The buyer is fully responsible for all shipping and transport arrangments and fees. I will try to help where I can. Thanks

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
